FUN AND EXCITINGJanuary 12, 2008 My brother bought me this and it is one of the best presants I have had.Rodney has two weapons for most of the game of the which I can choose which one to use and I like making choices, also it shows parts of the film during play.
Roddy Hot Bot (review of GC version)October 18, 2005 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
fun game that keep you thinking. for somebody who has not yet seen the film, the game gives you an idea of the story as it unfolds. with clips that link the areas of the game as it loads. graphics are good and smooth even when projected. sound is also good even on 5.1 I found the game challenging enough but not too difficult at the same time quite good fun. kids of 6 and older soon get good control of Rodney character as he interacts within his platform environment to achieve the end goals. On the early stages there is a lot of information from interaction characters to learn how to do the moves and later as he collects the pieces for plans of inventions you are able to use them to do new moves to achieve the later platforms.
later on the game gets harder as you have to work out the way through the platforms with little or no external information. By trying and testing the environment and keeping your eyes pealed you are able to soon understand what is required then by trial and error you eventually get it right. The only thing that bugs after a while is the music but hey in what game does it not bug you. also Rodney's comments when he wipes out a bad robot become a bit boring after a while but kids will love it. Other good points are the death rates. if you get creamed you return with full power and near to where you were you got your last item or the entry to the platform you are in. on most platforms are consoles where you can save your progress and also buy extra items depending on how much scrap you pick up on the way.
overall this is a fun game of all-round reasonable quality, recommended for non serious games and younger kids. and is im sure a good complement to the film.
