One of the best November 10, 2008 Unlike the other video game where my main objective to to complete the game; me and my sister have played and enjoined every stage of the game and really didn't want it to finish. I have completed all the series releases on N64 and gamecube and found this to be my second best as I still think that the "ocarina of time" os the best zelda yet.
I have also bought this for my wii but its exactly the same except for the controls. yet I enjoined playing the game and completing it for the second time.
I will highly recommend this game for everyone as I think that its suitable for all.
this is the original - and best - version of the game April 25, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
i can tell you now, this is one of the best games you will play and you will realise why the gamecube version is the proper version - if you can be bothered to read this
let me break this down into a few sections - the first will be about the game - the second will be about why the gamecube version is better and differences between this and the wii - the last section will be me rambling :)
the game is awesome - if you are not a zelda fan, don't read this - it is a fan service because people wanted a realistic zelda - windwaker was great but this is the opposite end of the style used - some will say it lacks something but i think this is the last traditional zelda and it was a good way to say goodbye
overall, i cannot praise this game highly enough - funnily enough, i think the criticisms of the game do not relate to it as a game but as a zelda title. we have high expectations so maybe those weren't met.
especially if you have grown up with zelda - there is something nostalgic about it and it puts other games to shame
it isn't perfect, some trekking which can be boring, like windwaker - but any negatives are minor because overall, it is hard to deny the brilliance of this game.
of course they could have improved it but if you dwell on the little things you will spoil the game for yourself - the game is, arguably, fairly criticised and i'm not a blind fan, i know where things can be improved (bigger dungeons for example)
the boss battles - especially the last one - are amazing. they aren't too difficult but they are superb. the music in the game is good, some is generic but some great tunes.
i played the final battle 5 times because the music was great and it was one of the best boss battles you will play.
i won't spoil it for you but new characters and story could open it up for a spin off game if nintendo wanted to.
i do think that the game could have been larger - there was scope for bigger areas and more enemies, i think that this may be technical limitations and the direction of the game.
you've heard me wax lyrical about this game - if you want specifics, check out reviews from places like IGN - this is definitely one to have in your gamecube collection. there are less than 20 must have games in my cube collection - buy this and treasure it
funnily enough, this reminds me of ocarina of time and majora - 2 different zeldas on one console
the differences - wii version has widescreen, which is good but not a deciding factor. the graphics are identical and they flipped the game for the sword controls - which don't add anything. trust me on this, the difference is not like playing resi 4 - the gamecube version feels more solid and the controls feel tacked on the wii version of zelda tp.
I've played both versions and the gamecube version is better because it has a camera control button - which was useful on many occasions and forget what other people say - nintendo built the game for the gamecube - so the controls for the wii were tacked on.
rambling - i forgot what i was gonna say, probably something to do with looking forward to the next zelda. also, the gamecube version is very very rare, if you get hold of it - even for 40 - it is a bargain because it will become a sought after item - there are loads of wii version games but this went out of print ages ago.
i do think now is the time for change - especially seeing how phantom hourglass was very good - this is the sort of direction we are going - this is the last fully traditional zelda and it will not disappoint, as a zelda fan though, i can see why some people criticise it but once you start playing it - you will love it.
if you disagree - you are wrong :)

Is it wrong to fancy Link, just a little bit???!!! November 19, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Oh my, they've gawn and done it again! Another fantastic and addictive offering from the Zelda series... I was worried initially that it would be a case of "same old, same old", but no! "Twilight Princess" does not disappoint. The plot is excellent and even has a few twists and turns to keep one guessing. The ability to play as Link-wolf brings a new and exciting dimension to gameplay and I loved getting to howl at the moon to unlock hidden sword skills (er, as Link not, like, me personally...) There are many new characters and, of course, old friends to meet up with. Good old Ganon, eh? I'm starting to feel sorry for the old codger, I've kicked his butt that many times... But, best of all, has Link finally met a lady to lure him away from the wiles of Princess Zelda? You'll have to complete the game to find out... I did - and now I'm writing a weird, obsessed sounding review of it... Er, I'm going now... Buy it!
Superb Swansong October 4, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was overjoyed that this was released for both the Gamecube and the Wii , as I do not own the latter . I have since read reviews stating that other than the control method , the games are indistinguishable .
Another Action/Adventure-cum-RPG in the same vein as previous outings , the game utilised the Gamecube's processor to the max . The story is long and involving , and is deceptive in the way it twists and turns . By the end , you cannot help but have an emotional attachment to the protagonists , and you feel disappointed to see the end credits roll .
The controls are straight forward , and , as with all Zelda games , there is a gentle learning curve to help everyone , from the most experienced Zelda players to the newbies , find their feet .
The graphics are some of the best that graced the Gamecube , with excellent draw distances , and the gameplay itself is flawless .
Essentially a classic
