Imaginative and strong story packed with puzzles. August 24, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I enjoyed this game very much. It reminded me of broken sword one and two. There were no timed sequences. The story was satisfying and the puzzles were many and were well matched to the storyline. There was an interface where you had thoughts and conclusions based on what people had said or what you have found so far added to a little book, and which you clicked on at relevant points of the game to help solve a puzzle or send an email to colleagues, which I thought was imaginative and added to the games complexity. It was of average length for point and click games (I just played Dracula origin; that was a short adventure). If you are a lover of point and click adventure games then buy this.
disappointed August 19, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
This game looks and sounds great but is dull to play. The locations are nice, as is the art work, and the voice acting isn't that bad. However, the few puzzles in the game are not logical - they just involve random clicking - and they're far too easy. The game is totally linear, which makes it feel unimaginative. How the characters reach their conclusions is unclear and a lot of the plot (which had some interesting ideas) is just unexplained nonsense. The interface could be slicker and, although there's a fair bit of searching to do, there is no satisfaction in the results. It's also really short. I think this game was rushed out around the time of the Da Vinci Code etc. A pity, as it could have been much more fun...
No comparison with Broken Sword January 2, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Having read the previous reviews, I just wanted to say- this game is NOTHING like Broken Sword!!
The plot seemed promising and I was actually really looking forward to playing this game. But what a disappointment. Everything about it was rushed. As mentioned the game is very short, the characters are completely generic (not to mention extremely annoying), and the cutscenes are so badly edited half the time I couldn't even tell what was going on. Not to mention the ending is so abrupt it leaves the plot half-resolved, and not in a fun and tantalising way. As for the puzzles, they are easy and again rather generic.
All in all I felt so let down by this game. It could have been really good, but was so unfinished that it sometimes felt more like a demo than a finished effort.
Shame.
