Not too bad start February 14, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
It is an alright start but one save to your memory card is over 7MB which is near enough 1 memory card. i didnt see this on the game box when i bought it and i now regret buying it as i never play it because i know i cant save it when ive finished. if you want any advice DONT BUY IT UNLESS YOU HAVE A FEW MEMORY CARDS OR YOU HAVE A 16MB OR MORE MEMORY CARD!!!!!!
Disappointing February 21, 2006 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Having been a championship manager fan on the PC i was really looking forward to the PS2 version. The game is massively disappointing however. It appears to have been rushed. I went a certain team in my first season and won the treble, reached the semi finals of the Champions League (no team from this has EVER got that far) and my two leading scorers had over 110 goals between them. It's simply unrealistic. Teams from the nation that you are playing in suddenly become really good in Europe beating teams such as PAOK and Juventus. The game is simply unrealistic and has obviously been rushed. However, if you are new to football management games then this would probably be a really good buy. My recommendation is, however, to buy a PC and get a management game for that instead.
Champ Manager 5 (PS2) November 30, 2005 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I was over the moon when I heard that Champ was coming to the PS2 as I have always been a Champ fanatic but my PC became too slow to run the newer versions so I couldn't get my fix...but then I read a lot of reviews of the game (many written before it was released) slating the game and I was put off buying it. Eventually I bought it "new and used" from Amazon and I am absolutely gutted that I waited so long to buy the game due to these bad reviews. This game is as good as any other version of Champ I have played in the past if not better. Yes it is a slimline version but what do you expect on a console (a word of warning - the game does take over 7MB of memory so bear that in mind when you buy!) As for bugs - I have played 4 seasons of the game and have not come accross one bug or glitch. I personally would reccomend this game to anyone who loves Championship Manager (although if you have a PC that wasn't with Noah guiding his Ark then you might be better off with the PC version)
Championship Manager 5 is it good enough? September 13, 2005 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I enjoyed playing Champ Manager on the PC but my PC soon got too old to run the new games. So I switched to LMA Manager on PS2,it took a bit to get used to it was quite difficult finding where you needed to go, when you wanted to. But having mastered that,I thought Champ Manager 5 would be easy, not so. I liked the fact you could alter the screen size, but the 2D effect left much to be desired, it just seemed like tiddlywink counters moving up and down the pitch. Making a substitution was difficult, too bad if someone was tired! LMA Manager 5 is more realistic in my opinion, hopefully ,someone will iron out the problems with Championship Manager 5 in the not too distant future, and Championship Manager 6 will be much, much better.
stick to football manager 2005 August 9, 2005 1 out of 6 found this review helpful
i have just played the latest demo of champ man 5 and to be honest its the worst football manager game ever made. the 2d pitch is un-inteligent and stupid and it is quite difficult to know what is actually happining. there are a few spelling mistakes in the media inbox. quite a few players stats are completly rong like john hartson at celtic has 20 pace. if u are thinking of bying a football manager game bye football manager 2005 and steer clear of champ man 5
