a game for hackers October 3, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This game's online feature is one of the worst excuses for a game ive ever seen. every death is bulls*** and you know it. and to kill anyone you have to empty half a clip from any assualt rifle except the M14 and the G3, otherwise prepare to waste a lot of ammo as killing anyone online is impossible seeing as everyone seems to be invincible and kills you in one hit with any gun.
im not writing this because ive had a bad day on it because ive had tons and the odd few good days. but the online is really not forgiving and so the story mode cant change my mind on how appalling this game is.
just do yourself a favour and get the xbox version or the PC version because the ps3 version if full to the brim with elite hackers.
THEE PS3 GAME September 28, 2008 This game online is what makes this game. The story mode is fine but no one wants to get caught up in that anyway because the online part of the game couldn't be better unless they paid you to play so you could skive work some more to get an extra few hours playing this game. I have found myself looking for new games to tear away from this but COD4 always ends up back in the ps3.
amazing!!!!!!!!!!!! September 27, 2008 the single player is superb from weapons to graphics all state of the art superb not so good multiplay you cant use single player weapons instead use weapons and then put one attachment on and a camoflague
The Widow-Maker Best Online Game i've ever played July 29, 2008 I've had Playstations since the PSone was just called the Playstation!! and this is THE most addictive game i've ever played; to give you an idea of how addictive the online play is I can tell you that my wife and both of her brother's wives have all taken to referring to the the PS3 as the 'Widowmaker' since COD4 came out. If I didn't work and wasn't married I would probably spend about 8 hours a day or more on this. If you own a PS3 and don't own this game you don't know what you're missing. Get it now and don't worry about buying any other games for the forseeable future!!!
98/100 the best shooter to date July 20, 2008 The first thing i would say is only get this game if you are going to play it online. The single player experience is let say short and sweet actually SHORT and sweet. Although great i completed it in 3hours and im not the best. However the online mode is almost perfect there are quite a few game modes and a large selection of weapons. off the top of my head: 6 assualt rifles 4 sub machine guns 5 snipers 3 light machine guns The things that could be better is that: 1) for online mode you unlock attatchments for your weapons (red dot site) however you cant attach 2 attachments at the same time. 2) not enough maps- although theres lots of maps the amount youll play on this game the maps soon become boring and for 4 extension maps they charge you 6.99 :(
however thats pretty much all thats bad with it iv played online for 12days like 288 hours and i am still not max rank also iv made many freinds on cod and its amazing if you get part of a clan. to sum it up this is the first game iv payed full price for that i havent regreted buying looking back id pay 100 for it. i canot advise this enoughCall of Duty 4 (PS3)
