It's a memory card that lets you save your progress and profile. I can get 5 or 6 arcade games on here that can be transported between my XBoxes (does not work with Sega Vintage Collection games, eg. Sonic).
But, it is still just a memory card. Why it should cost so much to fit in a proprietary slot remains a mystery. More overpriced hardware by MS.

Lets you back up all your saved games easily and you can transfer your profile to it when you go round a friends house. It seems expensive for a memory card when you can get a new game for around this price but if you think about it, only a few years ago we had to spend about 20 for an official sony memory card for PS2 that was 8MB, this 512MB xbox 360 memory unit is 30. Actually that still sounds expensive. Anyway if you need a memory unit then buy it, if you don't then buy a new game.
