Amazon.co.uk Review:
In a nutshell:
Rayman steps back into the limelight as he's brought in to protect the world from evil alien… rabbits? One of gaming's most beloved platform stars returns in a mini-game collection that makes Wario Ware seem sane.

The lowdown:
Apart from Mario, most other attempts from platform heroes to branch out into other genres has usually ended up in abject failure. Overseen by the series' creator though this features 80 of the weirdest party games ever conceived, including hammer throwing with cows and squirting rabbids with water to keep the door shut on them while they're in the toilet. Not all of the games are as short and simple as that though as this also includes various racing missions, a fully fledge flight game and ten different first person shoot 'em-up levels. Although each mini-game is introduced with a frequently amusing cut scene there's also a fully fleshed out multiplayer mode for most of them, including the shoot 'em-up levels where you get to play as either Rayman or one of the Rabbids.

Most exciting moment:
Whenever you complete a game in the story mode you can replay it any time via the replay mode. When playing the game like this you also get to dress Rayman up in an unlikely range of clothing, from afro wig to flared jeans and winged collars. It's not just for show either as it increases the likelihood you'll get a love letter from the Rabbids in the audience of each game!

Since you ask:
The Rayman series was created by Michel Ancel, France's most celebrated game designer. As well as the first two Rayman games he was also responsible for Tonic Trouble, the award winning Beyond Good & Evil and celebrated movie tie-in Peter Jackson's King Kong.

The bottom line:
Rayman's jump from platforms to mini-games is no misstep.-HARRISON DENT

1 out of 5 stars boring to easy   December 24, 2007

this is so easy. i just need to get passed the last mini game from day 14. seen the ending. quite boring. and the story is a bit random. but all there is to do is get passed the 4 mini games. at least 3. then do the boss. repeat this 15 times then presto completed. the game is as easy as pie. the only thing interesting is the bunny hunts. i probably think that the legend of zelda twilight princess that's like the best game ever.

5 out of 5 stars Hyperactive Rabbits?! Woo!   October 22, 2007
I've never been a fan of Rayman games however I do love party/mini games. There's not too many of them on the PS2 but Rayman Raving Rabbits is a very welcome addition.
Many of the mini games fall into several categories. You have your dancing games (rhythm action), racing games (riding bulls), reaction time or precision games (slap the rabbits quick) and button mashing games. In the single player game you have four small games to complete and beat set objectives. Beat three of them to open the final game of the round that's more often than not a third person shooting level where you shoot toilet plungers at the screaming hyper rabbits.
It's all very hyperactive and manic yet it never becomes too much. The games have a gentle learning curve to start with and then suddenly go mad so you need to be good to stand out. The humour that's been put into the game is present throughout and makes this game a beauty to play with other friends. Just make sure you're coordinated before you begin!

5 out of 5 stars Insane fun   January 18, 2007

Quite simply bonkers. A piece of sublime mayhem which never ceases to make me laugh out loud. People who never play video games have been hooked instantly. Whether it's keeping the evil little bunnies trapped in the toilet cubicle of the shivering wreck of a cow you have to throw before you swing it roung. Definitely one of the most underrated launch titles on the Wii.

4 out of 5 stars This is good   January 5, 2007

i have purchased all the rayman games.I was a bit dubious about buying raving rabbits, but on playing it i changed my mind.I have not had so much fun playing a game. Some of the mini games are so funny i cant stop laughing. One of the best is the disco danceing, its brilliant.
But be aware it can be hard work on your hands,as the work you have to put in with your controller is unbelievable.you might even have to purchase a new one when you have finished the game.
Buy it,its worth the fun.

3 out of 5 stars I think this is weak   December 16, 2006

I have loved Rayman games for ages, but feel this one is nowhere near as good as the others, especially Hoodlum Havoc. That was brilliant. I like the mini games on this but just leaving your cell to do more tests each time has already got boring and I've only bought it today (16th Dec 06). When I see story mode I expect a story that tells a tale as you go through.
Sorry, I don't think this is that good at all, although I can see that it would be brilliant on the new Wii that it was meant to be exclusively for. You probably have to stand up and do all the tests yourself with the controls that has to get Rayman to do the same. That would be fun for kids, but I am an arthritic middle aged woman who thinks the Rayman character is ace. I wanted another story with him in it. The story mode on this game isn't really a story. Graphics are great though, controllers a bit off now and again.
