Manufacturer's Description Step onto the pitch and play professional football your way in FIFA 09. Experience the most authentic football simulation EA Sports has delivered as you live the fantasy of playing as a professional player and customise the game to suit your style and ability. Powered by the third generation of the EA Sports football engine, FIFA 09 features more than 250 core gameplay additions and enhancements that deliver the most responsive, intelligent and realistic action ever for the series. Enjoy turning defenders with more controlled dribbling and ball control, snapping off precision shots with improved first-time shooting mechanics and firing beautifully timed passes with greater accuracy, placing the ball exactly where you want it. With new player momentum physics the speed and weight of the player determines everything from the distance of a slide tackle and the power of a header to the severity of player collisions and the height of a player's jump. Plus, players now behave according to their physical attributes with larger, stronger players dominating collisions, battles for control of the ball, and position in challenges for two player headers.

Rubbish Game November 22, 2008 The game has a lot to offer in the different stages but the game is trying so hard to be realistic and true to life that it is completely rubbish. because when you tackle someone it is a certain free kick even if you do a shoulder barge and they don't go down. also the sensitivity is awful even when you put it up on full.
What ever you do, dont buy second hand November 3, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
So I made the big mistake of buying this game used, Which you should never ever do as I found out the hard way, yes the cd key works to install the game but you cant register it or use the online mode as the cd key can only be used once to create a master account,
Also this game wouldn't even play on my computer at uni because it needs an internet connection just to load to play offline, is just moronic and I wont be buying an EA game ever again
Excellent Game - Why One Star just for copy protection? October 28, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Yes, if you are a serial pirate you will hate this game as you need to activate the game using the disc etc but once you are past that, you are away and playing one of the best Fifa games to date.
I have played the Wii version and seen the 360 version, both have far inferior graphics to the PC version, although the Wii version is incredibly smooth to play.
The Be a Pro Mode is great although slightly different to the Xbox 360 version as you start automatically in the first team making it a lot easier. Manager mode is incredibly smooth and easy to play as are the challenges.
I don't have any FPS problems or any glitches to date. It's a seriously good game and plays even better with a 360 controller although, to be fair the mouse and keyboard combo is incredibly easy to use.
I was amazed with the graphics when I saw them, especially after seeing the other two first. I would imagine the PS3 is very similar to the PC.
Fifa 09 on top again October 27, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Whilst this is getting mixed opinions, let me share some of my own. * Fifa 09 PC is a far better improvement than 08, they even made the little changes such as a nice looking menu and got rid of the appauling flash application for online mode.
* I will have to admit that there is a slight fps problem with high spec machines and for some reason it stutters during play but i have been told a patch will be out soon to fix this.
* The reason i write this review today is because people are quick to ruin PC versions when yesterday i played the PS3 version and all though the graphics are great the gameplay is shocking, the players move like robots and doesn't play like a real match. The worst was when running they seem to turn in right angles like robots no fluent movement at all.
If you are thinking about purchasing this game then stop thinking and do it! You will not be disappointed if you are a true football fan.
It's not that bad October 16, 2008 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Ok, lets ignore the DRM issue for a bit, I've been playing FIFA 09 for about a week now. So far, all I have done is played Manager Mode, which is like in FIFA 08, but polished up a bit, better graphics, smoother gameplay etc. Yes, people have said about the physics of the game aren't as good as on the 360 or PS3, which is well and good complaining about, if you've got a 360 or PS3, but I find it is still good enough on a pc. On 09, you can use your mouse as a control, to point, pass, and shoot, which is fair brilliant (once you've got used to it) I've found it helps make your shots and slide tackles a lot more accurate, pr you could use a game pad, or the old keyboard method.
But, to put it quite simply, if you liked 08 and your thinking about buying this one, do it.
