After having a DS with an R4 we decided to buy the DSI XL it's a lot bigger & ut has a camera & brain training built in, it's much better than the DS.
Having said that you need to purchase a R4i to use with this as the R4 wont work... I would recommend this product although there will be a 3D version out soon...

I THINK THAT THE LARGER SCREENS ARE A MASSIVE IPROVMENT FOR DS GAMING,I ALSO THINK THAT THE DSI-XL IS GOING TO BE REVOLUTIONARY HIT TO THE GADGET WORLD!HOWEVER THE COLOURS I THINK COULD HAVE A WIDER RANGE.

This review is of the Black system this version of the DS handheld system.
The large screens make the games better all your games from the DS lite will work on this one so you don't need to get rid of your old games if you don't want to.
The console is heavaier than the lite but only because of it's size this system comes with a small stylus and a fairly thick stylus pen there is no really change to the lite version apart from the size.
If you want a bigger and better view of your DS games then this DS will give you that in this case bigger is better I only use my lite as a back up.
