OK, since this is the collector's edition, I thought I would just summarize the extra items included and what I thought of them.
1) The metal lunch box is great, it is a bit smaller than a "real" lunchbox, with the height and with being about the same as a DVD/game case and the depth certainly enough to hold some lunch if you actually wanted to use it for that purpose. The art is nice, some of the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. clipart men around the outside and generally an art style that makes it look like just the sort of item you may find in-game.
2) Art Book - it is a little on the small side, I was expecting something a bit larger, but the quality is excellent. Nice thick paper with a glossy finish, and many many images. From concept art on the Washington settings to the character developments, it is a nice addition if you want to see a little more of the development process from an art POV.
3) Making of Disc - I'll be honest here, it is dull. I could not really be bothered with this, but to be fair it was the least interesting extra for me. It is distinctly possible that "making of" junkies will love it, but for me it was a miss.
4) Bobble Head - This was the main driver behind my purchase of the collector's edition and it is pretty much what I expected. It is a good size and looks really nice sitting on my desk. It is quite a bit glossier than I thought it would be and would have actually preferred a more matte finish. This is by far the coolest extra and I am sure the main driver in sales of this version of the game, if you are considering the collector's edition just to get the bobble head, you will be absolutely satisfied.
So, my overall impression is that the bobble-head and lunchbox alone make this product worth the extra cost. The art book and making-of are nice, but ultimately forgettable. Bobble man will have a coveted place on your desk long after you have finished this game.

For the extras you get, its worth the extra money! As for the game itself, if you liked Oblivion or you like customisation and lengthy gameplay, you'll love this! Enough said!

Okay, Fallout 3 was very anticipated game for myself, given that oblivion was my most favourite game to date. Unfortunately my console failed the night before release, so this review is for the limited edition extra's.
For starters the little lunchbox the whole product comes in is a very nice display item and personally I enjoy just looking at it.
The artwork booklet included is a very nice enjoyable read and good looking and just builds up the suspense to play the game and can help you appreciate the game much more just by the end of the first page.
The bobble head doll is quite possibly the part everyone wanted and is quite a nice little ornament which has some novelty value probably due to the nature of the game.
The making of disc is more or less the same as other makign of's of games with the team going over the idea's characters and creation process.
So to be honest I think the collector's edition of any game is an individuality choice, I like the extra's given with the game but sometimes it's similar to the halo 3 legendary package effect, where people seem to feel superior for paying more for the packaging of the game than the game itself.
