Full of bugs December 2, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought this game from EAStore.com. I found 3-4 bugs within an hour of play and couple of them makes the game unplayable at all. In 3D video mode, the computer will ignore your match result and generate one itself and the game crashes in every 15-30 mins. The reply from the EA technical support is so helpless. I wouldn't recommend anyone to buy this game until the patch released.
Bugs and crashes, oh why? Oh why? November 24, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I dont really understand why I have yet again bought a FM game and find it to be full of bugs and stupid small irritating things. The comentary is a laugh at times. The game crashes are frustrating. The thing needs a patch. Im sure they will release one again, just like they did for all the others. The same thing happened with FM08 and FM07, so it brings me to a point where I am stupidified as to understand why they can not fix these issues prior to launch and learn from the mistakes of older versions. It just looks as if they start from scratch every time they build a new game. In general there is not that much of an improvement on FM08, if you take away all the crashing and bugs and the in game commentory. The actual 3D game appears to be a bit improved and the graphics better. The stadium build is more fun. The tactics section is not improved IMHO. Overall though I am struggling through and hoping a PATCH is soon released to fix this thing.

Bugs Galore November 17, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this game on release from amazon and was looking forward to the changes, but i am a little dissapointed. The game runs smoothly, looks good and is up to date. HOWEVER, the commentry is way off, in one game alone the commentry included arsenal, aston villa and roma, none of which was the team i was playing as. To cap it all i lost a game 1-0 only to find on the results page that the score had changed to 7-0. With a bit of luck EA will provide some much needed patches. the game could be excellent and maybe close the gap on the FM series. Its just that it is full of bugs.
The Best football management game November 14, 2008 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
Many people favour Football Manager but to be honest, have they actually tried Fifa Manager? I have played both the 07 and 08 versions of both Fifa Manager and Football Manager but this year; I can safely say I will not buy football manager.
This is because I cannot see that any management game can come close to this. Ok if you like to play a more arcade like, easy management game then yes, you would probably want to go with football manager. BUT this game really involves you, as a tactician, deciding every single thing and is so much more realistic. You have the normal options of buying players, changing your team etc but there is so much more you can do. You can build your own stadium, build club facilities, boost your players morale by sending them to training camps, restaurants etc, and my personal favourite, you can use your wages as a manager to buy houses, cars etc and also play golf and go sailing.
However like many games this does have a couple of flaws as I do find it surprising to be able to beat Liverpool 5-0 away with ten men playing as Chelsea. Although Chelsea are a great team, I just think this may be only unrealistic part of the game compared with the rest as to be honest I am not the best manager in the world. One other problem with the game is that it is very difficult to keep a clean sheet and more often than not, you score 3 goals every match. The biggest frustration I have with the game is how the game lacks the proper names of the managers for every single team
Apart from these small flaws which in all honest does not actually impact the enjoyment of the game, the game is pretty much superb which has kept me playing it constantly.
In my opinion it is well worth buying and definitely value for money. FUN FUN FUN.... GO AND BUY IT :) You wont regret it.
