 A Complete Waste of Money November 22, 2008
These headphones are not worth the 20 minutes required risking life and limb to get through the nuclear bomb-proof packaging never mind almost 40. The sound quality is just awful, weak and tinny. I bought these to use with my iPod - I tried them with all the different size adapters and I tried with the EQ both on and off and couldn't get a sound that even came close to acceptable. Whilst the iPod headphones aren't brilliant the sound quality is adequate, my main reason for replacing them was discomfort. I had hoped, at the same time, for an upgrade in sound quality. If Amazon had sent me these free of charge I would put them straight in the bin, as it is I've just printed my return label, they will be in the post within the hour.
 Like the sound quality but wires cracked and broken in after 4 months. November 19, 2008
Bought this item back in January and found the right hand ear bud lost all sound after a month.
Returned and quickly replaced with a new set, without quibble.
After 3 months the new set started to have a few minor cracks/splits in the wire covering; At the connection to the right ear piece. Then the just above the splitter, then on both sides and along the middle of the wire.
Now just over 4 months since replacement, it has cracks/splits all over the wire and sound again in the right ear is almost gone.
The wire is getting wrapped loosely round the ipod and so may well be my own fault. But what else are you going to do with them between uses?
Will be returning them once again, but doubt i will buy this brand again.

Firstly, Can i say that i initially bought a pair from ebay that had no bass and just didn't sound right or up to the usual sennheiser standard so I sent them to sennheiser who confirmed that they were not genuine and i have since read elsewhere that quite a few of the sennheiser headphones on ebay are fake as they are cheap to produce.
The range of earbuds you get with them all create different levels of bass. I found that the biggest ones were best and the sound quality is amazing through my AV amp. Through my ipod touch they were not so good, the ipod equaliser isn't to impressive, and with it off the quality is ok but not as good as the amp.
The cable noise is also extremely loud which i only found out on the treadmill, to fix this i superglued the loose cable coming out of the flexible rubber hose, to the flexible rubber hose connecting to the earbud and it stopped it dramatically as the cable is no longer pulling down on the connection inside.
All in all an amazing sound from the right source but not amazing from an ipod.

This product is definitely worth buying. as soon as you put them in i could tell the difference between my old earphones (The ones they give you in a sony ericsson phone). These had a sharper sound and a bigger range in sound. tending to lean on towards the bass, but you can easily fix that with an equalizer. I expected complete sound isolation but it is still very good and if you get it for under 30 then it is a very good buy. Great earphones. my words to the bose users "you got ripped off!"

I love these, once fitted they block out all the noise of:
trains, my car engine (although this may be illegal?) , background office noice. My wife can watch Tv and meanwhile I can block out wife swap or pop idol and watch stuff on my laptop, they saved my marriage!
