Almost perfect November 20, 2008 Bought this to link my Virgin V+ box, my XBox360 and a laptop to a single HDMI input om my LCD. Image quality is great, a little fuzzy sometimes on the digital cable TV, nothing to complain about though. You get a hell of alot for your money, IR remote control, power supply, and a USB cable which I plugged into my V+ box. Only one small problem you can get a loss of sound to the TV, as the tv doesn't know which signal is coming its way, you have to turn the TV off and on again to get the sound when changing signal...no big problem though.....well worth the money.
Excellent Product November 14, 2008 I bought this device some time ago to use with my Sky HD box and my Panasonic DVD recorder to connect to my LG LCD tv. It has always worked perfectly and overcomes my lack of multiple HDMI ports. Well worth the money. Even more so now that the price has been reduced!
sometimes no sound November 9, 2008 I conntected my Philips 5990 DVD/Divx player and PC with ATI 4670 graphic card to my Samsung LE40R72B LCD television. ATI 4670 supports sound via HDMI. I could hear sound from TV with 5990 and 4670 when they are connected separately. If I use Joytech Switcher, I can-not hear sound from TV sometimes. I did not figured out yet the reason. There must be restrictions or orders of connection ports or turning on the devices. I am not sure, if one device must be turned on before others, I'm still trying. Since, I have a Philips HTR5000 Ac3/DTS decoder, and usually connect 5990 / PC via coaxial digital sound cable, sound will not be a problem for me. I'm now searching for an RCA switcher to connect my 5990's and PC's coaxial digital output to HTR5000. I think it is not safe to connect digital outputs with a splitter, so I'm searching for a simple switcher only. Unfortunately Philips 5990 doesn't have an optical sound output.
Doesn't do what the description claims November 2, 2008 Description says, 'Easily switch between three HDMI devices', well as seen with previous orders it doesn't work with sky. In my case it doesn't work with the xbox 360 either. Plug a 360 in and your other sources (depending on what they are for some reason, e.g. bluray, ps3, pvr) the xbox either has no sound or the video can only select 720 and not 1080.
On my bluray device it also sends the wrong signals through and my amp picks up the wrong sound source when connected to the switch.
Overall, I've had to put my devices onto the switch and my tv in the order I didn't want to in order for it to work, negating half the reason for doing so.
The connections aren't particularly tight either so the slightest touch and you lose your connection.
Great while it lasts October 26, 2008 This has been very handy since I got it. It works fine with both a PS3 and Xbox360 plugged into it. However, it has just died on me after 10 months use, so don't expect it to last too long if you buy it.
