do not buy this September 16, 2008 this game will crash, bug in software on tt 250 race.....so do not buy this game. don't give jester (or jokers) your money....
An Opportunity Missed August 10, 2008 Oh, Jester, what have you done?
Surely it's common sense, if you're going to map throttle and brake to X button by default, to at least give people the option of changing to using the right stick if they want? I know I used the right stick on the first TT Superbikes, so why take that option out of the game?
It's not as bad as some people here make out in my opinion, and the game is playable with a couple of hours practice (if you've never done it before, using pressure-sensitive buttons to accelerate and brake is a complete bear to get right), but the throttle control in particular isn't quite fine enough, with noticeable steps as you accelerate rather than a smooth progressive increase. The inclusion of other famous road races along with the IoM TT is welcome, and the tracks are all recognisable if you've ever seen a race there even if the graphics aren't brilliant (and what's going on with the framerate in Macau), but while there's still fun to be had, there's always that nagging feeling that Jester have managed to sabotage their own game.
A flawed masterpiece!! But still a masterpiece July 31, 2008 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
With respect, if you take heed of the previous 3 reviews, you will be missing out on an absolutely brilliant game.
For those who ride a bike in real life, you will appreciate the awesomely accurate physics handling model. The controls are steering wih the left stick and power and brakes with the X and the square buttons. These ARE analogue and are NOT on/off. Don't me wrong, it takes practice BUT it IS a simulation and a brilliant one at that. It's all worth the practice you put in.
The racing is brilliant. The graphics are brilliant. I love it. There ARE some problems with the game, but the features that have been included in this sequel to TTSBs mean that the original will rarely get a look in now!
BUY IT!!!!!
Absolute Rubbish July 28, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
What a massive disappointment. If you have any interest in bikes DO NOT buy this game. There is no way to control the throttle and brakes on the analogue stick. For some insane reason the manufacturers force you to ride the bike using the buttons which gives absolutely no control - it's either on of off, no proportional control at all. Waste of time and money.
Go and buy something else July 7, 2008 3 out of 7 found this review helpful
