Amazing Console November 18, 2008 A brilliant Console. Not a lot more I can say that other reviews haven't already said, just backing them up. Brilliant online system, very fast, and so far, very efficient (touch wood)
Not too loud, brilliant graphic compatibility, and fantastic game choice.
No complaints!
Pure Gaming Machine November 17, 2008 I'd been torn for a while between the PS3 or XBox 360, but decided to plump for the 360, purely for the 120 price difference (and the games available). Very impressive machine indeed, especially on a 37" Samsung LCD HD tv. I didn't want a multimedia platform, I wanted a machine that is dedicated to one thing and one thing only, gaming. For the price, this is incredible value. Highly recommended.
Still some minor niggles but it still the best games machine of the current generation. November 16, 2008 Why is the 360 the best games system? It is a combination of price, service, games and graphics. It is the only system not to have any form of motion control, well for me this isn't a problem as the wii has that sewn up anyway and for me it didn't really do anything anyway. As for ps3 motion control head over and read the reviews for so Lair. It does have the best controller of all systems. It is comfortable to hold responsive and the sticks and buttons are all welll positioned for comfort and quick usage. Okay it doesn't have an inbuilt rechargable battery, which is a good thing long term. either buy batteries or get a play and charge kit, 0nly about 12 and replacable if the battery stops holding charge which saves you having to replace an entire controller for 35-40. It runs games in full HD or scales them up (assuming you have a TV that does support full HD) Although the add on HD DVD drive is dead in the water that doesn't affect the games in ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM. Blu ray is very nice don't get me wrong I have a ps3 and buy blu rays but I do not think it will completely replace DVD for a long while, if at all. Games that run on both 360 and ps3 often look better on 360 as the 360 is an easier machine for developers to work on and while it lacks the raw power of the ps3 it has some tricks that the sony machine cannot easily match. Even so the graphical difference isn't that great For online play the 360 is also the way to go, xbox live is worth the fee, 40 a year isn't much at all for a faultless service. What really sets the 360 head and shoulders above the competition is the games. There are very few franchises that are not on 360 now and they are not ones I miss anyway.
Very quiet! November 1, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I don't know why some people are saying these are loud. They must have faulty ones or something! This model really is incredibly quiet compared to the original 360's, both the fans and the DVD drive!
There is a really bad design flaw though, if you want to use hdmi and the optical audio out you can't fit both an hdmi cable and the AV cable (which is needed for the optical out) in because the sockets are too close together! So you need the audio out dongle, which you can only buy with the official Microsoft hdmi cable, which costs 30! Not good!
Ease Of Use October 31, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just got my 60gb console and am so amazed at the fast set up time it takes i was up and running in less than 2 min and i was all set to go excellent running can hardly hear the fan on this version conpared to the review from those who bout earlier version of the 360 asmentioned in outher reviews this version comes with 18 demo which is more than enough to give a sample of the excellent graphics at hd quality some classic demo like frogger that i loved as a younger child make this reviewer very happy with the 360 so can wait to hook up to my router with my network cable when i arrives as the ebclsed cable is way to short and i didnt see to point of paying over 50 for the wireless adapter when i can get a 15m network cable for less than 10 10/10 for excellent graphics and 10/10 for the fast easy up and running time
