CH products flight sim yoke December 10, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
The CH products flight sim yoke is really brilliant for flight simulator, it is very realistic and very fun to use. It has a hat switch allowing 8 different views and 8 other switches which can be assigned to the users prefered assignment, subsequently there is a special scroll switch for elevator trim, there are also three throtles. The yoke looks very good and attaches to a table or desk with a built in clamp.
Overall I think its an absolutely fantastic product which is great for flight sim, it's fun, it's nice looking and it works well.
Practically perfect May 31, 2007 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
After extensive (well, pretty much!)searching online, this CH products yoke was one of two that I could find for purchase. The other one, however, was only for sale for time to time on some corner of eBay, and did not look like the kind of reliable thing that I wanted to supplement my real-life flying with. So, I bought this one. I found immediately that it had a nice range of movement, and a well chosen weight behind the movement - you don't want to inadvertantly flick your nose over your head during the landing flare, as is possible on lighter controllers! It gives a satisfying feeling during the flying, and feels a lot more authentic than the joystick I previously used to use. It comes with quite a few buttons for the hands when on the yoke - more than enough to personalise your shortcuts with, a view-hat switch (which lets you look around the cockpit with ease), a vertical trim rocker switch (very useful!) and a rudder trim rocker switch. There are also two push up or down buttons, which I use for flaps and landing gear, and of course the throttle, prop and mixture levers. These were firm to the grip, nice and chunky, and smooth without being too smooth to handle. The yoke comes with two adjustable clips, for want of a better word, intended for attaching the yoke to the table. Unfortunately this system didn't really work out so well, with the yoke rocking when I pushed it forward or pulled it back, but wedging a mousemat under the back solved this fine. Needless to say, all that was needed was to plug the cable into the USB port, and within seconds it was recognised by Flight Simulator, no calibration needed. Coupled with the pedals, this made for a great transformation of the Flight Simulator experience. There could have been a few improvements, such as a better attachment system to the worktop, but as it is it's brilliant, and I highly recommend it.

The Flight Sim Yoke makes you feel like you fly a real commercial plane. I highly recommend it to you.
High Flyer September 25, 2005 33 out of 33 found this review helpful
I have flown a Cesna and was hooked on learning to fly, both practical and theory. So I bought myself the FS 2004 but was flying the aircraft with a joy stick which was a bit hit & miss so I wanted it to be more realistic. So I Have just got the CH FS Yoke. And its transformed everything, its so much like all the actions of a real air crafts yoke. But in my honest opinion its absolutely amazing and brilliant. I agree with the person from Ireland, it wasnt very smooth to start with, but I soon cured that by applying a smear of vasaline on both parts of the exposed shaft that controls the pitch. If your serious about learning to fly, then just buy it and start flying. The price? worth every penny,if you ask me!
Better than using the keyboard or mouse, but overpriced April 15, 2005 37 out of 41 found this review helpful
The CH yoke certainly makes a difference from using a keyboard or mouse, and makes flight simulators more realistic. However, having flown real-life Cessnas, the CH yoke is poor imitation of the real thing - it feels cheap and plasticky, and the elevator control seems to be a bit "sticky" in that it doesn't move smoothly in and out (although the aileron movement is smooth). There are no instructions or manual with the yoke. Although it is pretty obvious how it works and is very simple to set up, it would be nice to have some information about maintenance, problems, etc. Overall, I don't really think the device is worth the price. However, because there is no other flight sim yoke on the market I would reluctantly recommend it (at least, until something better or cheaper comes along).
