Good fun hack and slash October 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Just finished this games yesterday, and I had a lot of fun with it. One of the few games where I wanted to pick it up any free time I had to do the next stage. Good points are good story (with the great BRIAN BLESSED shouting as always!), good graphics, amazing variety of gory kills and some nice cut scenes. However a couple things let it down, the lack of variety and the length of the game, probably completed it in less than 20 hours. However very enjoyable, and definately recommended at the lower price!
It must have been a battle to make a game this bad. July 27, 2008 When buying this game for 25 I thought I had a bargain as it looked and sounded ok. However, I quickly found that this is one of the worst games ever made for a console.
The graphics are terrible for a next gen console and the animation is abysmal. The sound is very standard and I cant even pick anything special or bad about it. The environments look like something from a kids cartoon and the characters all look like dwarves.
The gameplay is weak with combat being the only thing you have to focus on. This would have been ok but the combat is so poor that it is laughable. Seriously, hardly any combos and most of the moves look the same. There are some gory finishing moves but you have hard attack and soft attack and thats about it.
All the missions revolve around finding your men, an object, or killing something. With no variety you will quickly get bored of wandering across another hill to kill some people and then claim the objective to unlock another samey mission.
I had to take this game back as I could not bear to play this trash any longer. So bad it gave me stomach ache.
Not Brilliant June 4, 2008 I bought this game after seeing the trailer - I was hoping that at last a good game was available for the PS3 (Most games I have played on the PS3 thus far have not done the platform justice) and I was yet again let down by this game and the PS3. The game constantly crashes just when it looks like its getting interesting. I am at the point of getting rid of the PS3 and buying a 360.
Disappointing May 23, 2008 Boring side quests, mediocre graphics (looks like its a PS2 port), and repetitive fight sequences. On the plus side, it is very satisfying chopping enemies limbs off.
It's a nice idea, having a hack and slash RPG, but this one just doesn't work.
Heavenly Sword is much more fun than this and has far more depth to the fighting (and it's only 14.99~ on pre-owned now).
DISAPPOINTMENT May 21, 2008 Saw the trailers and thought this would be AMAZING!!!
Took it straight back the day after buying it and I enjoy mindless button bashing!!!
Slow, dull and frustrating. Thought it would have all the best bits of God of War, Champions of Norrath and Dynasty Warriors combined.
It doesn't.
It's crap.
