Prequel to the original award-winning "SACRED" game, SACRED 2 - Fallen Angel delivers an epic gaming experience combining intricately detailed 3D environments, an immersive adventure and rich story-telling spanning hundreds of quests. With multiplayer modes including drop-in/drop-out, a vast and seamless world that dwarfs other RPG titles, 6 diverse and playable characters, extensive skill progression, a range of gameplay styles, and parallel campaigns of heroic duality in both single and multiplayer modes, SACRED 2 - Fallen Angel is the ultimate in Action RPG entertainment.

Two thousand years before Shaddar summoned twisted beings from the Underworld, Ancaria was already in grave danger. SACRED 2 - Fallen Angel is the portal to the land of ancient legend and brings the history of Ancaria and the entire fantasy world to life. "

1 out of 5 stars NOTHING IS SACRED ANYMORE   November 19, 2008

The original Sacred was a great game that, although not exactly groundbreaking, it offered many hours of action-cRPG fun. What is more, its publisher had the good sense to price it reasonably from the start and thus fight piracy in the most effective way.

SACRED 2, although enjoys more demanding environmental graphics and spell effects, is just another victim of clueless gaming industry executives. Instead of learning from the history of their own game, they'd rather idiotically jump on the "SecuROM/Limited Activations" bandwagon. After all, if they can hide behind the "everyone is doing it" excuse, who can blame them when the game does poorly?
They are obviously under the illusion that selling at full price a game that is actually RENTED will fail to be...noticed! Respect is a two way street - and underestimating gamers' intelligence is not a good start.

It is a shame that SACRED 2 got shot in the foot by its own publisher. Now, instead of being another success, it will simply be another game sacrificed on the alter of corporate Greed and marketing incompetency.

AVOID.

3 out of 5 stars A reasonable game   November 13, 2008

I bought this game a few days ago and had no problems loading it or running it. You have to make sure you have the right PC specs though. Minimum specs are: 2.6GHz Dual Core processor. 1GB ram. 128MB graphics card. DirectX-9.0d. NVIDIA GeForce 6200 ATT. Radeon X1300. Intel 945GM or better. You need 20GB HDD space. Windows XP with Service Pack 3 or Windows Vista with Service Pack 1.

I emphasis these are the minimum specs, ideally a 512MB ram graphics card is better. ie: NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTX. You must make sure you if you have XP that you have upgraded to Service Pack 3! At the start of the game it does quite a comprehensive check of your system and if you do not have these specs then I presume you will have problems.

I can't say too much about the game yet as I have only been playing it for a few hours. It looks pretty enough and I am playing as a High Elf. Mainly for the eye candy as she is quite pretty. (OK I am odd, I have to admit it haha!) As the game is over 20MB it does take a while to install (well over 30mins.) And it has the usual anti-piracy precautions built in. I guess if you are not a pirate then this is not a problem!

There is a huge gaming area involved, so this will keep the avid RPG game player amused for quite a while. I seem to have acquired some sort of buddy that has tagged along with my character and I find him extremely annoying as he keeps saying the same things over and over again. It goes something like "To me, to me, all units to me!" I feel like strangling him. Also in the initial stages I keep coming across hoards of Kobolds. They are funny little dwarf like goblins that are easy to kill but are relentless in their unceaseing attacks on my character. In fact my character can be heard constantly saying "Oh Lord, spare me from these Kobolds!"

So I am wondering if this game will keep my attention going? My boredom theshold is quite low and if things do not change for the better I fear this game will end up in my ever increasing graveyard of PC games next to my computer. I have given this game 3 out of 5 stars, in other words it is an OK sort of game but does not blow my socks off! I will give it a few more days to see how it pans out, but I am not holding my breath on this one!

4 out of 5 stars If you liked the first you'll love this...   November 13, 2008

It seems strange that this game has been out for a week now, yet there are no reviews for it anywhere (other then Eastern European game reviews). I have been playing for a few days and I have not had a single problem with the game. It installed easily enough, the graphics are smooth (if not revolutionary) and I haven't experienced a single crash.

Overall the game plays very much like the original, which I loved. It is a Diablo clone but has enough to offer on its own to warrent better than average reviews. The action is fast and I always love creating combo fighting moves. The charcaters you can choose between are all very interesting and I like that they have different start points. You can also follow an evil path with all the charcaters excepth the Seraphim (who is by far one of the greatest RPG charcaters of all time).

I do have some gripes though. First the inventory and character menu are so small. All the stats and equipment look tiny and you'll find yourself squinting at times. Also the start of the game is ridiculously easy and I was worried that the whole game would get boring....but stick with it long enough and things get interesting.

Fianlly I just want to say that this is a good game overall with plenty of replayablity, a massive gameworld and 100 times more intersting then the majority of new role playing games out there. If your looking forward to Diablo then this would be a great fix for you until its released.

1 out of 5 stars Wait for the console release.   November 11, 2008

I hate to take a dig, but this is exactly why I pretty much rely on console versions now. I "used" to primarily get stuff like this for the PC, but your tech problem is the prime example as to why I never bother now. Simply get the console version, fire it up and that's that. There's too much hassle with PC gaming to warrant my time.

Saying that, the console version isn't out until 2009, but I'd rather have the wait to AVOID problems like this on the PC.

2 out of 5 stars game simply won't run   November 7, 2008

i've messed around now for 6 hours trying to start the game. fairly top-end comp standard components (ati radeon 3870x2, vista 64, intel quad 9300) latest drivers, firewall off, dxdiag says no probs, searched various forums in various languages to no avail.

this spec is standard enough to have been proof tested by the developers. i have written queries and am hoping for some solution soon, otherwise it's straight back to retailer. not impressed.

i don't want to give it 1/5, since there really might be a gem inside - if you are lucky enough to get it going.
