Amazon.co.uk Review If you’ve been concerned that the new generation of consoles has had relatively little in the way of new ideas, then LittleBigPlanet should be the game to restore you faith. It’s difficult to describe properly, which is a good thing, because it means it’s very different from the norm. Peculiar machines like this are the norm in LittleBigPlanet | Although combat is a minor part of the game, there are some huge bosses | Creating your own levels from scratch is as easy as playing them | Objects can be made out of anything from wood to sponge, metal, and felt | Amazing graphics bring the world of the main character, known as Sackboy, and his fabric-coated pals to life with realistic physics and a stunning level of detail. Played with friends it’s a great puzzle adventure, as you co-operate and compete across each level. The game’s trump card though is its customisation, not just the characters themselves but the whole game. It’s extremely easy to create your own levels, and the best fun is had simply setting up areas for mucking around and then sharing them online with other people. Key Features - Unreal reality: There’s never been a game that looks like this, with ultra cute characters but realistically modelled physics and materials from wood to sponge.
- Co-op fun: Co-operate with up to three friends, as you run, jump, and swing around each level and overcome the cunning puzzles and dangerous enemies.
- Everything changes: Every single element of the game is fully customisable from your player character to each of the levels and all of the objects within them.
- Mad scientist: Create your own unique levels and change the properties of any objects to make Sackboy mincing traps or huge machines that can move whole levels.
- Eye see you: Use the EyeToy camera to further customise your game with special stickers that allow you to add your own photos to any level.
About the Developer: Media Molecule After working on games such as Black & White and Fable, a group of ex-Lionhead Studios employees formed Media Molecule. The Guildford-based studio rose to frame through the independently produced Rag Doll Kung Fu, but their first retail game is LittleBigPlanet.

Simply Amazing, LBP redfines gaming! November 21, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
As soon as you go through the tutorial you just know this game is something special. Even the levels in the game are great, it takes some time to get every single object and the leader boards add that extra something for the people who want to make a name out there. Media Molecule have created a game that is truly ingenious. Once you've completed the single player campaign you can go and create your own levels. I tried my hand at this and it truly is astounding, the amount of depth and detail you can add to your level is simply amazing. The worse thing is I haven't even scratched the surface of the tools.
The ability to use my eyetoy to add my personal touch to my levels is great. One some disappointment is the ability to import my own stuff. I want to create my stuff in photoshop and add it to my levels, but I have heard that they are planning to bring this feature in by xmas. When this happens then you can truly create levels which are a cut above what you already see on PSN.
I can only some this all up as probably the best thing I have seen since a slice of bread. This will change the gaming industry as we know it. Sony has done a great job to open this up to every individual to create and enjoy gaming.
Also, the game appeals to all demographics that is what makes this game that unique feel. I don't think this has been achieved until now. Yes, you have mario etc, but a game which allows you to change the central character to anyone you wish is never been done, this in itself warrants extra stars.
If I could give this game a 11/10 I would. This game is a work of genius and everyone should enjoy this game and I mean everyone.

All I want to say is what a breath of fresh air this is. Can't tell you how bored I was getting with the same old next gen games, It's absolutely brilliant. Buy it now you won't be sorry.
Marvellous! November 16, 2008 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I've spent many hours playing this game already, and it's amazing, and worth every penny!
As a basic platform game, it's fun, interesting, and can be enjoyed by anyone. The graphics are detailed, the physics Newtonian, and the levels well thought out. Even the control of sack boy still has me in hysterics (Ok, I'm amused easily, but I can make mine do the "Staying Alive" dance!).
For those with a little more time on their hands, the level creator is marvellous, and rather addictive! One can use an array of materials, shapes etc... to create pretty much whatever they like!
I'd recommend this game to anyone normal! (although those that lack imagination or have very little patience might find it a bit dull...)
Simple review...... November 14, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Ok, as the famous quote goes "Don't believe the hype".....now if this was the case, and I was susceptible to Sony multi-million $$ advertising campaign, (which I didn't see and therefore cannot comment on) then fair enough..........but, and its a big butt u can kick if u like, this game is by far and away the most creatively satisfying game on any console, ever...fact.
You learn, you grow, you acquire and then you force your creative juices onto the outside world......whats not to like?
The soundtrack is addictive, graphics sublime and replay value off the scale........well done Media Molecule for completing 80% of a game perfectly and leaving the remaining 20% to the rest of us...hope we can do you proud.
Enjoy

Little Brilliant Planet November 13, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Have been playing this for almost a week now and it's still excellent.
The controls do take a little getting used to as everything, including sackboy, obeys a certain level of physics. Once you've got used to his momentum when jumping around the game just gets better and better.
Inventive gameplay, fun multiplayer (I've tried it off and on-line and it's amazing!) and some excellent levels included on the disc - plus all that user generated content to come!
If you haven't got it by now, you really should go and buy it straight away!
