Product Description This is Datel's official Hot Wire battery for the Sony PSP and PSP Slim which functions as a Pandora's Battery (also known as a Jigkick or Tool Battery). This battery will make your PSP boot up from the Memory Stick in Service Mode. A separately available correctly formatted Memory Stick (a Magic Memory Stick) is required for flashing the firmware of your PSP. As well as the PSP Classic this battery will also fit the PSP Slim but is larger than the Slim battery so you will not be able to fit your battery cover. This battery takes 3 x standard AAA alkaline cells (supplied) which are inserted in its casing, and will last for approximately 1-2 hours use.

Datel Hot Wire - Avoid at all costs November 21, 2008 Not much to say. Used this in my PSP slim with no effect at all. Tried rotating the battery's as the instructions condescendingly recommend but still would not work. Sent back to Amazon for replacement which came in two days. Replacement also did not work. Sent back for a refund. I wont be getting bitten a third time.
Great service by Amazon, but unfortunately a cheap and nasty product.
Excelent product August 1, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This tool does just what it should do! I tested it on a PSP slim and it works perfect.
defenitly not tempremental July 8, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
ok i bought this handy piece of kit for obvious reasons (otherwise you wouldnt be reading this would you :-p) it done exactly what i needed it to, and thats to boot my psp up in service mode. Dont be put of by both the first review and the fact that it uses batterys, and to be honest it only took me ten minutes to do what i needed to do with it, so i wouldnt exactly say battery life is a major concern.

Don't let the above naive review put you off... it was probably made by a company selling the competition product. I bought one of these recently... came with the device, batteries and clear instructions. Plugged it into the PSP... copied the necessary files to the memory stick.. and away it went.
Perfect product, perfect price... you will not be disappointed.
don't bother May 13, 2008 0 out of 5 found this review helpful
poor build quality, low functionality - very tempermental. I've only had it successfully work once, for a very short period of time, not long enough to do anything of any use. fork out the extra 2 buck for the red TOOL battery.
