A rhythm game which lack srhythm in the controls... WTF!? December 24, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I loved Parappa on the PS1 it was, in fact one of my favourite PS1 games - unfortunately I only ever got to play it around afriends house (due to its rarity). When I found out it was being ported to the PSP I was delighted - and then I bought the game...
The controls are WAY off and do not match the beat which makes the game unbelievably frustrating. The graphics are very sharp and nice though the control bar at the top is way too small and occasionally runs over two lines - which wasn't a problem on the PS1 due to a bigger screen, but on the PSP can seriously screw up your timing.
All in all this is an extremely bad port of a brilliant PS1 game - avoid and shell out 50 on the original - despite the price tag it's worth it.
Final word: A bad remake of a great old game.
Way too hard... September 4, 2007 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
This game used to be good on the PS1, but on the PSP the meter at the top of the screen is way to small and way to sensitive to you just slightly missing the symbol. Unfortunatly it hasn't been adapted to the PSP's screen size and is very disappointing. Also the add-on music website just comes up with "Coming Soon" so where's the 8 remixed tracks Sony?? The only time it does ignore being slightly off is when in easy mode, but this mode is way too easy to complete and doesn't contain all the levels from the original, you're limited to the market rap, and I really can't put up with the Onion Guy saying "Again!" any more nor "kick, punch it's all in the mind..."
