The most complex RPG around July 29, 2006 24 out of 28 found this review helpful
I've worked my way through most of the GBA rpg's and I bought this thinking it would be a quick and fun easy blast of a game, but it's by far the longest and most complex rpg I've ever played!
It was my first pokemon, and this one is also the biggest, it's like taking up exercise by competing in the olympics. I had to print off some information about it because it was so complex, and I don't think you could really get the most out of the game without some FAQS or help from someone who knows.
That said, it's brilliant, and not just for kids at all. There isn't much plot, but the game is so engrossing it doesn't matter. Don't expect it to be short though, once you're in, pokemon will own your soul.
Pokemon Emerald! July 1, 2006 20 out of 27 found this review helpful
I'm not new to the Pokemon series and have loved it ever since I first played Pokemon Red all those years ago. Now, years laters at age 18 I am still hooked on the latest installments of the series. The game will be instantly familiar to anyone that has played previous Pokemon games and is pretty much pick up and play as far as catching and battling wild Pokemon go. Later in the game it gets quite difficult but this is a game that really changes the more effort you put in i.e. if you spent the time training up and catching the best Pokemon you will get a much more enjoyable experience.
I played Ruby before I got Emerald and the differences aren't massive but the one I enjoy the most is that there are many more 2 vs. 2 battles which are great fun! Also being able to catch every single Pokemon (with the help of Ruby,Sapphire,FireRed and LeafGreen (yes it is abit of a marketing ploy)) is great.
The only dissapointment I had with this game was the lack of a night and day feature like in the GSC series. Nevertheless this is a brilliant, fun game for everyone!
great game! June 1, 2006 11 out of 22 found this review helpful
this game is really and truly great! after the elite four you can do loads of stuff and there are lots of legendarys to get. even though it is set in the region of saffire/ruby it is still different and great fun you if you love pokemon and are looking for a game you should definatly buy this one! :D
Pokemon Emerald April 9, 2006 12 out of 19 found this review helpful
This game is addictive! The game is set in the region of Hoenn, and you can pick your gender and name. Pick a pokemon from the choice of three and set off on one colossal pokemon adventure! Catch 'em all has never been so tough - the pokedex is 350 pokemon long! 'Why buy this as well as Ruby/sapphire?' you may ask. Well this has the fight between the awesome pokemon Grodoun, Kyogre and Rayquaza. And there's the National 'dex, the super-cool secret ending and well some new cool characters. This is one game sure to go down in the history books. Buy it-enjoy it!
