Remake but not REmade July 15, 2005 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
This was a bit of a dissapointment when I first saw it. As several other reviews have said, the graphics have not had much done to them. The gameplay and storyline still work, making this a good game for new-comers to the series to get aquanted to the older games. Still a good game, but I would've sooner waited for this to be given the face lift the original was given. In conclusion, I would only recomend this if you have NOT got a PS1.
Resident Evil 2 Review July 2, 2005 4 out of 13 found this review helpful
Well one more resident evil is out on gamecube and ever body wants to play it as there is many resident evil fans out from fans of the files to fans of the games and films. Me am a fan of both.Review of Resident evil 2 RE2 is a really is a good game with lots to do from all the zombies and weaird other things you have to kill and all the puzzles and guns this game has it all so drop everything and go to your local game shop and get re2 on gamecube The bad side: The graphic are a bit ps1 and dreamcast effects Thanks Paul

Resident Evil is a must yeah right when it got released in 1998 on GC i was expeting a remake like Resident Evil Rebirth(or Resident Evil remake or just Resident Evil)the controls is stupid the graphics are like on the Pc version bad but the story is still as good as when it arrived in 1998 if you don't have RE2 on PSone N64 PC or Dreamcast buy this otherwise stay away from this
VERY GOOD GAME! February 19, 2005 1 out of 6 found this review helpful
Out of the resident evil games on gamecube and on any console, I got to say that this is the best one there is! I had this on PS1, it was utter rubbish, I had it on N64, it was amazing, and now on gamecube, it just simply stunning, graphics are brilliant, puzzles are great and clever, the gameplay is good and the enemies are top notch! Very good game!! Get it! Then get RESIDENT EVIL 4!!!
An absolute classic! January 30, 2005 10 out of 11 found this review helpful
I feel that this is a very underrated game, because contrary to popular belief it is NOT a direct port of the PS original but infact the rare Dual Shock version! The differences being: Obviously the dual shock feature and analogue control but also... The graphics to me look better (though only slightly). The 4th survivor games now have a timer and new artwork on completion. An U/L ammo cheat is available from the menu like on the original Directors Cut. Different costumes may be available. There is an ability to aquire an S rank. But by far and away the best bit has to be the Extreme Battle Mode, which will be very familiar to Ressie fans and also gives the player the ability to play as Ada Wong or even Chris Redfield! The game itself is one of the best resident evils and is one of the few with the 'jump' factor which the newer ones seem to be lacking (i.e.Rebirth & Zero). The scenery is very Assault on Precinct 13esque. Maybe the only other version worth getting is the N64 one for the extra files and costumes. The only criticism I can level at it is the graphics but particularly, as is mentioned by an other reviewer, leaving out the 180 degree turn is scandalous! With this being only 20 quid or under now, I would REALLY recommend it to someone who either hasn't played it yet, or is still playing it 7 years after its launch (like me) and wants to play the battle mode.
