4 out of 5 stars Double The Karts! Double The Power!! Double The Fun!!!   April 23, 2006

Mario Kart: Double Dash brings out a new challenge for beginners, and pros alike among all Mario Kart racers! Instead of having just a single passenger and a single kart, you get to pick two characters of your choice and one double sized kart and whip butt with combined characters, and combined cars! With characters like Mario, Luigi, Peach, Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, Bowser, Wario, Waluigi and loads more, you will be unbeatable in this racing duel out and perfect for the challenges up ahead! And you better be prepared as well, because there are loads of tracks that are large, and small and difficult for you to take on, like Peach Beach, Mario Raceway, Waluigi Stadium, Sherbet Land, Donkey Kong Mountain, Bowser's Castle, Rainbow Road and loads more!!

Mario Kart: Double Dash is an enjoyable game and is recommend for any player whom owns a Gamecube and wants to race on farfetched courses, but can be a stressful game as some of the courses and opponents are superior and powerful and can really annoy you when they use their tricks and tactics to over take you!

My Personal Gaming Score: 8/10: Enjoyable, Fair-Play, Thumbs Up

My Wish: The Rainbow Road course on Mario Kart: Double Dash is a bit ridiculous and very annoying as the track is roughly 3 minutes long. Plus the matter of fact that there are obstacles and you will almost fall off course anywhere! If only they did classical courses from Mario Kart 64 such as Mario Kart 64's Rainbow Road, because Mario Kart 64's Rainbow Road is fantastic, very long at almost 6 minutes in total, beautiful and stunning!!

Final Comment: Overall, I think Mario Kart: Double Dash is a good game, even though Mario Kart: Double Dash isn't as brilliant as what Mario Kart 64 was; it sure kept me busy time after time!

5 out of 5 stars must-have game: simply amazing and great fun!   February 26, 2006

Mario's past outings on the Kart have been great successes, but this game is Mario's best yet. The main difference is that you can choose two characters to ride on the one kart; one drives and the other one fires the items. This is an inventive idea that does not ruin the classic kart racer but makes the game more varied. Other changes include each individual characters special item, for example, Yoshi's giant egg or Donkey Kong's giant banana. The racing is simply addictive and fun too. There is a great range of karts, tracks and characters and when you have a four player multi-player game there is laugh out loud moments and complete mayhem. The controls are great and easy to use which is great for beginners. The game is okay for a single-player with all the cups to win but it is rock-hard and not as fun as multi-player. There is even more to do than racing. There is a battle mode that has games that include bombs, balloons and shine sprites that is even funnier than the racing!!
Mario Kart Double Dash is an amazing game that you must own if you have four mates that are wanting to play a hilarious game and competitive racing. If you are on your own, it is still a must-have for all Gamecube owners.

5 out of 5 stars A must own for any gamecube owner   August 25, 2005

No gc collection is complete without this. Me and a friend of mine have had endlesss hours of fun on this and now my girlfriend has joined in and she loves it. it will make you shout and scream. Will fill you with laughter and joy as you win and get you screaming in anger as someone just nicks the first spot from right under you. Great as a single player game and when you complete it you will come back. you can play it for 30 minutes while your partner is getting ready and you need time to kill as it easy to just pick up and play or when your friends come over you will be hooked for hours. This game was the main reason i got a Gamecube. You really cant go wrong with this. Nintendo at its best

4 out of 5 stars Imperfect, but brilliant   August 5, 2005

I can't belive that some hard core Nintendo fans are refusing to call this a "proper" Mario Kart game. Some people can't handle change. I love the new two rider karts, I was worried there wouldn't be enough for the rider on the back to do, but how wrong I was. There is such satisfaction gained from winning a race as a team. There is still the classic Mario Kart craziness. You can only be playing one game when your being thrown in the hair by a giant ballon creature while a fellow racer gets dragged off into the disctance by a barking black ball/bomb thing. There is nothing quite like a Mario Kart race. Furthermore the multi-player games will keep you amused for a good long while.

There are unfortunately some let downs. The Karts feel far too slow which is annoying. The AI can also at times seem too intelligent, and thats not always a good thing. On the whole there is a bit of a rushed feel to the game, but I still love it.

5 out of 5 stars Marks, set, buy it or else!!!!!   May 7, 2005

Alright, I've owned the game for over a year now and I must say it's pretty exellent. When I got the game I hated racing and I hardly ever played it. But as I played through it more I got very addicted to it. After three months I had nearly completed it, but accidentally started a new game and had to start it all over again. There are 6 different cup tracks(mushroom, flower, star, special, all-tour and mirror) and also plenty of characters and cars. This particular game takes the whole Mario series to a new level. So kids save up your pocket money and interested adults use yer credit cards and buy probably the most fun, addictive, racer-wha'kin', car-bashin' and item-throwin' mario game in existence.
