Made even a die hard Sonic fanboy cringe July 6, 2004 5 out of 13 found this review helpful
As I notice most of the reviews of this game so far seem to be from people who clearly haven't even played the game, I thought I'd chip in with my opinion of this awful game.Firstly, I loved Sonic, Sonic 2, Sonic 3, Sonic and Knuckles... let's just say I've never been a fan of Sonic in 3D. The promise of another 3D Sonic game made me expect a game featuring the buggy collision detection and horrible camera angles we've come to expect through the Sonic Adventure series, but Heroes takes the cake as the worst yet. Many times in this game you will find your team hurtling at break neck speed through empty space, with a rail only a few pixels wide to land on... more often than not this experience is followed by a long drop and a trip back to the last restart point. Often accompanied by a few shouted phrases you wouldn't want your gran to hear. Additionally, the game is far too long and has too many pointless characters in it. Why not just have Sonic, Knuckles and Tails and have done with it? There really is no reason to make you play the game four times with increasingly obscure characters in order to complete it. If each team had different levels maybe it wouldn't be so bad, but they don't. Just slightly modified versions of the same set of levels (although I must say I prefer Team Dark's levels because they actually add some form of challenge rather than simply trick the player into falling too far) To conclude, this game is not as difficult as it is irritating. Sonic games have never been difficult, but this is the first I don't think I can be bothered to complete purely because I'm running out of hair to tear out in frustration. So why TWO whole stars? Simple - I'm a Sonic Fanboy :)

this is the next era of sonic and it is looking very bright with 4 teams of three with the ability of speed power and fly and teams sonic, dark ,rose and chaotix this game is a must have for all sonic gamers! with the slight glithers inbetween this game blossoms into an action packed 3d filled adventure over 14 colourful levels fighting dr robotnic at the end when getting all 7 chaos stones and to sit back and watch your gaming experience with a kick ass sound track at the end you must buy and thank all at team sonic with blessing the gaming world with this title
sonic... how have you out done yourself? April 24, 2004 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
sonic heroes, sonic heroes, oh i'm sorry drifted away with the awsomesoundtrack on this game,it has 4 ultimate teams, team sonic with the oldfavorites Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, theres another team, team darkShadow, Rouge, and Omega, team rose Amy Rose, Cheese and Cream, finallyBig, now we've came to detective team chaotix Vector, Charmy, and Espio, all with a speed type, a power type, and a flying type, to help you flythrough the powerful, speedy levels. There are 14 action packed stages, after every 2 levels theres a big bad boss, after all 14 stages, collectall 7 chaos emeralds with ANY team, to open the last story where you mustbattle the fully transformed metal sonic overlord. After completeing astory, you get a cool film showing highlights of your gaming experience. At the beggining they have the coolest starting tune and film. Also as yougo through the game, there are cool tunes and songs to unlock. The dolbydigital experience is F-A-N-T-ASTIC! This could possibly be the bestsonic/sega game ever, and the ending clearly shows the coming of a sequel.I am a big Sonic fan and have been for years. I give a thumbs up and fivestars to sonic heroes, my name is Lloyd and I choose to play!!!!!!
Sonic Heroes April 5, 2004 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
Sonic Heroes is the latest of the sonic games and i was expecting alot after playing the fantastic sonic adventure 2. the game is basicly this: 4 teams of 3. team sonic (sonic, tails and knuckles) team dark (shadow omega rouge) team rose (amy big cream) team caotix (Vector charmy espio) each with their own battle against Dr. Robotnik. Its entertaining at times but incredibly hard and that can really crush your enjoyment. the fab 2-player makes up for this with high speed action and battle stages
Heroes for a day. But that's about it! April 4, 2004 5 out of 8 found this review helpful
I felt ever so dissapionted that day I purchased 'Sonic Heroes', I heard that it was suppossed to be an old school 'Return To Form' Sonic game before it's release date, and I couldn't wait! I love the old Sonics, everyone does, back in the Megadrive years Sonic was the shit! However, things have changed (a lot) and 3D is the mainstream so I guess this is why '...Heroes' is so entertaining to new fans of Sonic (aged 7-12) and not to old fans (some whom are in thier mid 20's by now). And I'll tell you why as well, it's because '...Heroes' doesn't in anyway feel or even look like a reformation of Sonic Team's earlier art.Okay, we've all acknowleged that you now control 3 characters all at once and are put in teams (Hero, Dark, Chaotix, and Rose) and I'll admit it is easy to get used to, but whats wrong with it? The controls and camera angles (once more) are totally manic, if on a particular level which involves a lot of anti gravity activity you could be running free and then the camera will act up and you've fallen miles down to your doom. Which as we can all agree, is VERY unfair and angers you to swear (VERY often) the two player is no fun either, its just as dissapointing and dull (yet again, because of the camera). The only elements that could even remotley remind you of days of old, is that you don't have to plod through adventure fields, the way you can still hear the same ring collecting sound since, well, whenever! and that about sums it up! Yep, I know a real let down. 'Sonic Heroes' is the worst game of Sonic yet, it lets you down the way 'Sonic Advance 2' does, go buy a proper game like Zelda, Mario, or Final Fantasy 'cos this game is just terrible!
