VERY VERY DISAPOINTED! September 19, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've always been a fan of the GT series. I bought my PS3, waiting for the new GT. While waiting, i played games like Need For Speed (Carbon/Pro Street), DIRT and lately GRID. GT5 Prologue is amazingly boring and dull compared to those games. The driving, the handling, the fun, the excitement of the race, the damages, the real A.I., nothing's there. It's like they did not use any of the possibilities offered by the PS3 platform, except for the graphics. Maybe they will improve the real GT5, but so far, GRID is the ultimate racing game for me.
Very OK August 30, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
First off I have to say I can not really find much to fault with the game. The graphics look great, the cars are realistic enough, the courses fine. Everything about the game is OK, it just lacks that spark, that special something that makes you want to keep returning to the game. If you like driving games you will like this but lets hope there are some better ones out there.
I haven't tried the online game yet, maybe I will later (or maybe I wont).
Superb! August 19, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Great graphics, great cars, great sounds, and the online play works well. It is a fantastic game for the price and they are also adding stuff all the time including GT TV which came this month!
Great Graphics, Lacking in Depth August 15, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
The last time I played Gran Turismo was on the PS1. I have been blown away by the graphics and general presentation of the new version (especially through HDMI cables on a 42" plasma).
However, the game seems a bit shallow. In the PS1 version there were rally stages, dirt tyres, night stages and loads more tracks and car adjustments. This version just seems to be 5 or 6 tracks (and variations of those tracks).
I'm just a bit disappointed... but it looks great.
It's The Prologue July 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The looks, the gameplay, the cars. the menu, the feeling... It's all good, until you reach the end. It's missing so much stuff compared to what the final version will be yet it manages to be an incredible experience all round. For the price it's at it's a must have PS3 title for any respectable driver.
