Not even as good as Vice City April 29, 2008 19 out of 52 found this review helpful
What a shame, but I have to warn you that this game suffers badly from poor controls and wreckless car physics.
The handbrake if used results in mad circling spins even at low speeds. The camera angles make driving awkward when cornering which is very frustrating. Shooting sections also have poor cover controls when compared to other top rank games out there just now such ar Rainbow Vegas 2.
The aiming system hasn't improved since games such as Manhunt.
Yes - the graphics are great but the game moves slowly and is rather poor to play. And yes there are far too many cut scenes.
The ambition showed by the developers is to be admired but the final output is a delicious looking, but sickly tasting cake with far to many calories for my liking.

This game is so addictive. I am sick of people slagging off the consoles. Both Versions of GTA are very good. This is the game to get this year for the 360 or PS3 this year.
Immense. April 29, 2008 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
GTA IV is just down right outstanding. The seamless integration of single player and multiplayer is a master-stroke in gaming. This game is going to be topping all charts for quite a while!
Waste of money April 29, 2008 6 out of 51 found this review helpful
I enjoyed GTA 1, 2, 3 and San Andreas.
However... GTA 4 is NO different! I hoped for something amazing, new, cool etc. Instead I got GTA 3, with a new cover. 5 hours in I turned it off when I realised nothing new or exciting was going to happen. Waste of time and money, which is a shame. They could have done something really new and cool here. Even the graphics are no better than any other game out today. Big disappointment.
Good, but not a patch on the PS3 version April 29, 2008 5 out of 65 found this review helpful
Having been lucky enough to have played both the XBox and PS3 versions of GTA IV for five or six hours each, I can happily confirm that it comfortably exceeds everything that had been promised. However the side by side comparison of the two games really exposes the flaws inherent in the XBox; Graphics are far far poorer than the PS3, they're jumpy with far lower resolution, I've encountered a number of (minor) bugs in this version too, and the absence of the online multiplayer on this platform will I feel damage it considerably. If you're lucky enough to own both systems then its a no-brainer; buy the PS3 game, but if you're stuck with an XBox rest assured, this is still a heck of a game and beats Halo3 hands down. Its just a pity that the limitations of the XBox360 are so claerly laid out this early in its life.
