I have little to say that is bad about this, so i'll be brief;
Pros:
Exellent, sleek design.
Very easy to use.
Lots of interesting features (eg. pictochat)
A clever Dowload function that means basically if your friend has a game and wants to play mutiplayer you just download (wirelessly!) the game from their ds!
Some exellent games. (some!)
Just a wonderful thing to play around with.
Cons:
Few really exellent games
Fingerprints get all over it almost instantly
GBA games stick out a bit.
Conclusion:
A absolutly exellent handheld gamer from nintendo (I congratulate them!). When you get it buy Nintendogs!!! You may want to wait a while for more games to come out. Although the PSP has more software for it, this is the thing you should buy if you want a handeld. (I just want to say that all the cons are very small and really shouldn't be worried about) .

I haven't been one for playing a Playstation or playing games on a computer, but I really fancies one of these Nintendo DS consoles. So I decided to get one along with the Brain Training game and I have had so much fun with it!! It is so easy to use and I also bought the protective case so that I can take it and use it in my lunch hour at work, which passes the hour quite nicely and I don't need to plug it in or replace batteries, which is a complete bonus!! The graphics are really clear and the screen is great for both lefthanded or righthanded people!! I would highly recommend it to anyone thinking about buying one...

I adore my DS. My favourite thing is the stylus. It works a bit like a mouse which is great for games like Theme Park and The Sims (though why they didn't release the original PC version of The Sims is beyond me), so much easier than a PS/Xbox controller.
It's tiny so I can take it anyway, it's rechargeable so I don't have to spend a fortune on batteries and best of all there's no plugging it into TVs or wiring up sound... you just turn it on and it's ready to go :)
I do hope they release some decent games though, as there aren't many yet. It's a shame because it's got so much potential.

I purchased a DS 48 hours ago - and it's great. So much gaming action in such a tiny console. The black model is ultra sleek, although it does require some polishing to keep it that way. My hands are also aching slightly, especially when using a game that requires lots of stylus use. Overall, though I think this is great, I'm looking forward to taking it on holiday!

As the title states, this console is great. The games that we first got for it were 'Dr. Kawashima's Brain Training' and 'Super Mario Bros.'.
The first game is fantastic, well designed and still has us playing three months on. The second is also great, I love the 'old-fashioned' platform style games, looking sideways at the character rather than 3D. These two games really utilise the DS Lite's physical capabilities. Just imagine how far technology has come so that you can play games that use sensory touch, that hear you when you speak, and in the case of the Mario game, it can even sense your breath in order to make characters move in certain sideline games - amazing!
The design of the DS Lite is sleek and compact. I have to say that playing a game such as Mario, where dexterity of the digits is important, the DS Lite does make things feel a little awkward, but it's not much to complain about.
So, this is where the main problem lies - so far these two games that we bought with it seem to be the only ones worth having. As I completed the Mario game some time ago, and we were left just playing the Brain Training game, I joined a game rental company for a little while to try to find some other titles that we could get for it. I rented games that had been recommended to me, but I'm struggling to see why. The games rented were 'Phoenix Wright', 'Trauma Centre: Under The Knife', 'Another Code', 'Electroplankton', 'Madagascar', 'Big Brain Academy', 'Ice Age', 'Tetris', 'Ultimate Spiderman', 'Yoshi Touch And Go', 'Mario vs. Luigi' and 'Sonic Rush'.
We didn't enjoy any of these titles. Many of them spend so much time making you read huge amounts of writing that are repeated every time you start the game, it's more like reading a badly written graphic novel. Some of the games were very boring, others just seemed so poorly designed I wonder how Nintendo can justify their release.
It's such a shame, and that's heartfelt, because this console had me in raptures for weeks, singing its praise to all who came near! The scope for a machine like this is huge, but it hasn't been taken advantage of.
I know there are a lot of people who love the games I rented, but I'm not one of them. I only hope that better games will follow as I don't know the console's lifetime with only two games.
