Reviews Matter!! August 23, 2008 We all know how important customer reviews are as its the customers who, at the end of the day, expect to recieve fully finished quality products and for once (sorry sony) there is finally a game I am certainly not willing to sell - ever! This game is just simply stunning. Im sure most of you who have a PS3 and have several friends on your list will all be displaying 'Playing Call of Duty 4'. It's hard to imagine just how good this game is so im going to try a new method of approach. Now imagine your 7 years old, your walking into a sweets store and the person behind the counter smiles at you and says "its your lucky day, your our 100th customer and everything to you in this shop is free". Now it takes a few seconds for the brain creamage to settle down as your feel your head explode with 100000 thoughts of pleasure at once. You look around, you smile, you smile some more, your eyes start to water and you go crazy <<< THAT is Call of Duty 4. Never have I seen a game with such excitement to play each day. The only game I can name that comes close (but a far second place) is Orange Box < Team Fortress 2. Most of us loved that game. It was funny all the way through and we didnt mind getting killed so much. COD4 however stands head to head with a Heavy, stares him in the face and makes him cry. If you dont have this game then your missing out of quite alot. The single player is very good with very nice locations and atmospheres. The story isnt weak like "bad guy needs to die" mission 2 .. "bad guy needs to die" in this game its all designed perfectly and its story is strong (though not final fantasy strong). Multiplayer is where this game shines. You start of on Rank 1 and some basic weapons. You need to crawl your way up to rank 55. As your level up you aquire new weapons, attachments for new weapons, camo for weapons and 'perks'. The 'perk' system is very unique. You can create a mix of different battle perks such as extra fire power, faster reload, undetectable on enemy radar, increased health etc. You can only ever use 3 different perks but your free to mix and match how you see fit. Just as an example mine are: Slot 1 - 3x Flash Bangs (great for small maps) Slot 2 - Stopping Power (each single bullet does double damage) Slot 3 - Dead Silence (you will never hear me coming)
So, if you dont already own this game then add it to your basket and wait for the postey. Enjoy!!
The Widow-Maker Best Online Game i've ever played July 29, 2008 I've had Playstations since the PSone was just called the Playstation!! and this is THE most addictive game i've ever played; to give you an idea of how addictive the online play is I can tell you that my wife and both of her brother's wives have all taken to referring to the the PS3 as the 'Widowmaker' since COD4 came out. If I didn't work and wasn't married I would probably spend about 8 hours a day or more on this. If you own a PS3 and don't own this game you don't know what you're missing. Get it now and don't worry about buying any other games for the forseeable future!!!
98/100 the best shooter to date July 20, 2008 The first thing i would say is only get this game if you are going to play it online. The single player experience is let say short and sweet actually SHORT and sweet. Although great i completed it in 3hours and im not the best. However the online mode is almost perfect there are quite a few game modes and a large selection of weapons. off the top of my head: 6 assualt rifles 4 sub machine guns 5 snipers 3 light machine guns The things that could be better is that: 1) for online mode you unlock attatchments for your weapons (red dot site) however you cant attach 2 attachments at the same time. 2) not enough maps- although theres lots of maps the amount youll play on this game the maps soon become boring and for 4 extension maps they charge you 6.99 :(
however thats pretty much all thats bad with it iv played online for 12days like 288 hours and i am still not max rank also iv made many freinds on cod and its amazing if you get part of a clan. to sum it up this is the first game iv payed full price for that i havent regreted buying looking back id pay 100 for it. i canot advise this enoughCall of Duty 4 (PS3)
Best Game On PS3 apart from oblivion =] July 3, 2008 The online is unbeatable! Add Colwell_2 if you think you are good enough :) Single player is boring though, so get online and try and compete with me noobs. x
Best game ever ever ever June 28, 2008 I have had this game for 6 months or so and i cant put it down. The campaign mode is fun, but online its just breathtaking. Its the detail that impresses me. To go to the bottom of a disused, empty, swimming pool and find a spray can with full detail on it is just amazing. My sister was over last week and saw the game online - she asked if it was actual footage of a village as it looks so real.
The additional maps you can download are also great, especially Killhouse.
I have played all the 'top' PS3 games out so far (Uncharted, MGS4, GTA4, Haze etc) and COD4 kicks all their butts.
The downside is that online gaming with other games will only be good if they equal or better what Infinity Ward have accomplished.
My Devil May Cry 4, Condemned 2 and MGS4 are waiting to be played but at the moment COD4 rules the PS3.
BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
