haze is one of those games which has been hyped up so much that its almost impossible to meet the expectations, much like assasins creed and most other games out there right now. however, i have to say that this game is very good IMO and not as bad as others say it is. this is not to say that its doesnt hav its really bad moments:
bad things: 1) campare this game to COD4 and there are many basic things which haze should have, but didnt include. AN example is the ability to run faster and most importantly the range of weapons. there are only about 3 or 4 types of weapons in all. 2)the graphics are really good i think BUT they could be MUCH better and are not in line with other ps3 titles such as uncharted or COD4 3) bugs - i have so far only encountered 1 which froze my ps3, however nothing was damaged so its wasnt as bad as it could have been.
thats all i could think of for the bad points. good points:
1) very good storyline - i really enjoyed the story and found it to be very engaging, tho it could have been fleshed out a little bit more and possibly explained a few more things in the beginning. but other than that the story is what will most drag in. 2) gameplay is very good IMO, its simple yet hard enough for more experienced players to enjoy. tho the A.I does slack sometimes but this doesnt take away from the fun! 3)the level in the game could be seen as dull and umimaginative but look past the basic structure and there are some really interesting levels in this game and some really fun objectives!
in all i think this game is unfairly judged based on first impression and even i thought it was bad at first but i stuck with it and now i really like it. so i say if u arent a very picky gamer, like me, then buy it and enjoy but if u are more experienced and a much more hardcore gamer then maybe u should skip this one.
DONT BOTHER June 8, 2008 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
All I can say is save your money. Lets hope Battlefield Bad Company is a lot better because this is bad
Worth the wait? June 6, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This game was delayed for months, I had it on order since last year. But you dont mind if they are polishing it off and fixing any bugs.
Problem is they didnt, the AI of your team mates comes from the days of the ZX Spectrum, they constantly run in front of your gun fire and are just annoying.
The graphics are ok as is the storyline however, this game will make you wary of the makers free radical and Ubisoft. Next time I see their name on a PS3 game I wont be pre-ordering!
Where is the next GEN?? June 6, 2008 3 out of 9 found this review helpful
I'm sorry but i have to start by saying this game was an absolute let down. After being an avid Xbox fan and hating PS3 i recently bought the dreaded giant photocopier for the blu ray facility, and to shut up all my most annoying mates who now have a PS3, and rub it in my face that PS3 is infinitely better than xbox. But this game is absolute proof that PS3 games Suck. They probably did not release this on xbox because microsoft spat on the idea. Haze is one big let down after another, after playing for 7 hours on normal i completed this short and un-sweet and totally not next generation in the slightest, FPS. the graphics for a system thats twice as powerful as the xbox are no where near as stunning or beautiful as bioshock, the vehicles are clunky and awkward as are the men who follow you in it. You cant control your team members like rainbow six or or pull off any sweet moves like Halo 3 (dragging people out of vehicles and sticking grenades to 'em). To top it off the game ends so abruptly that you feel cheated and lied to. In all honesty i'm a realist and 1 day PS3 will harness the power of their system and blow the competition away. But that day isnt here. This game isn't next generation so don't think your going to get anything different or better than before, and don't buy this with the intent of getting sucked into the online play because its limited. If you're new to FPS than fine, this has the stuff to make it adequate. If your an avid gaming fan, you will know you have made a mistake once you watch the opening scene which dumps you in the middle of combat. Before you have time to have some serious fun with the powers it all changes and the sweet nectar you had is taken away, and all you can do do is feign death??!!! why didn't they start with that?? I enjoy games where your powers get better not worse or taken away completely. Disappointing till the end, unsurprising and boring. No next gen feature or AI. Makes me want to return my PS3. RagingStevon Gamerscore 31000+ xbox 360 rules all!!
