Money Grabbing Scum April 11, 2008 18 out of 23 found this review helpful
This is a game I have been eagerly awaiting since it was announced. Having made several trips to the US i have been taunted by its appearance in the shops over there and pleasantly surprises by the apparent value for money.
I was expecting a slight increase in price, maybe even 20-25% but this gross overpricing is unbelievable.
As it stands I could probably buy the Rolling Stones for less then this game costs and have them play on demand in my living room, maybe even wearing fluffy dressing gowns....
As it stands I am gutted and disgusted - and will not be parting with my cash - I am off to the states next month and if the peripherals from there will work over here i think there will be a good business in importing them and selling them on ebay.....
taking the piss April 11, 2008 13 out of 16 found this review helpful
The price is a joke. No purchase. I got a good bass guitar for less than the price of this game - Or I could have got a really good cymbal set for my drum kit.
EA do it again! April 11, 2008 18 out of 22 found this review helpful
Twice the price of the USA, and blaming it on VAT and increased electronics prices in the UK?! Okay theyre more expensive over here - but a double of what the Americans have to pay? AND You have to buy the game and the actual instruments seperate, since they think "that is better fitting with how we want the game to work".
EA really are screwing people over too much these days. I have been looking forward for this game since the US release, and oh look, it has taken well over 6 months to travel the pond, and it is going to cost me the same price I could buy a Nintendo Wii with a game? No thanks.
EA - stop being money grabbing idiots!
Price gouging must end. April 9, 2008 18 out of 23 found this review helpful
I'm sorry, but as 'unique' as rock band is touted, it isn't worth double the price of what the americans pay.
Thinking of spending 180 quid on gaming? buy a wii instead and enjoy a unique control system and a fast growing successful catalogue of games.
If you're thinking of buying the software alone and then using your guitar hero guitar, you might be disappointed to find that the selected songs mostly focus on all round band music. Don't expect any wailing solos or guitar centred songs.
