Harmonix did it again May 23, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
First off all to people complain about controllers price. Wrong item you giving low score. ;)
Now some important info for smart people. This game works with GH2 and 3 controllers. It works with 360 headsets(on hard or expert it might be to bad quality!) and all usb mics. So only drums would be missing, just wait to it fall in price?
Now to game itself. After being dissappointed with Guitar hero 3(Way to many notes, notes that not even from guitar, to loss timming on strum and to easy HO/PO ), and felt more like a chore then fun. I am happy to see harmonix was the reason older Gh games where good.
For multiplayer this game beats Guitar hero big time. Ofc having mic and drummers added to it, helps with multiplay. But stuff like world tour, create your own character and so on, is what takes it up even more.
Now singleplayer is about same as guitar hero series. But Creating you own character, weekly DLC, drummers and vocals easy makes this game a bette choice in the end.
Is the price high? hell yes. Should price be lowered? would be nice. But if you compare RB with GH and see what you get. 2 more controllers, World tour, create character and way better DLC. Hmm then you getting more then 2x GH content in long run, so content wise RB price is ok.
Amazing May 23, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Rock Band is truly amazing! Even though its quite pricey it is well worth the money. I'm addicted to it after only a day of playing it with my friends, which is the best feature about it. Being able to play in a band makes the game so much more exciting and fun, especially when one of your mates is trying to sing! I haven't had any trouble with the instruments even though i have read reviews saying they were very weak. Both the drums and guitar feel very sturdy. The only problem ive had with it is the strumming can be annoying as it sometimes cuts off your continuous notes but its no biggy.
A must for anyone who can afford it!
You should take a stand May 23, 2008 1 out of 6 found this review helpful
First, we get the game 6 months late. Next, they announce that the PS3 release date is "unconfirmed". Then, they put a price tag on it that is 140 at best, 180 RRP. What a joke! Other people have reflected that the whole set costs about 75 or so in the States, why are we paying twice for the same hardware, that is now NOT EVEN NEW??!!? This game looks awesome, but they are just putting the arm in here.
SOOO MUCH FUN! May 23, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
First of all, I totally agree with the reviews on here - the overall price tag for the instruments and the game itself is ridiculous, and will probably lose EA a lot of orders. I would personally not get the whole kit + game for the current price. However, I am lucky enough to own both a 'Guitar Hero' guitar-controller, plus a 'Singstar' USB microhphone. Therefore, I was able to just buy the drum kit for 70 quid, plus the game, which alltogether came to about 110. Although this is still expensive, I'm glad I was able to not buy the whole instrument set. Also, whenever I need an extra guitar for bass or rhythm, i can simply ask one of my mates to bring over their own Guitar Hero controller. After only playing the game on the drum kit for a few hours today, I have to say that this is one of the best gaming experiences I have ever played. Its so damn addictive, and the choice of songs is also very good - very varied for every persons taste in rock music. Like I said previously, I totally agree with the negative reviews for the price. However, if like me you own most of the instruments anyway, then I highly recommend purchasing the game and the drum kit to complete the experience. My mates will be over tonight so we can get drunk and rock the night away, and I can't wait!
How Much May 23, 2008 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
Why do we have to put up with this - for the next must have gadget. Ok it'd be cool after a few beers or fun with the kids. I'm just taking a stand
