OMG! dual throttle and great grip! September 10, 2007 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
Hi all, just today I did recieved my Saitek AV8TR, and all that I can say is amazing. First of all I am from Spain and never ever bought something in Amazon, but I was looking for a new joystick to change mine (that used a very old 15 pin midi plug) and bought this one... AMAZING! dont be put of for the price! I am not an experience sim-pilot, but this will just do the job for any arcade and sim! the is a great variety of buttons on the stick and on the base, plus the dual throttle control and red switch that gives you even more options. There are 4 buttons on the base, plus the red switch. Each can move up and down, going back to its default possition(center) there are just like any button, but with the look of a real cockpit...again AMAZING
PROS: amazing look, hundreds of buttons and millions of combinations, that to included software Saitek SST, DUAL THROTTLE, perfect grip for left and right handed, usb conexion, MISILE BUTTON ILUMINATED AND COVERED FOR MORE REALISM...
CONS:no forcefeed back, vibration or whatsoever. The dual throttle is sometimes a bit difficult to reach because of its position.

Don't be put off by the price!
Excellent Joystick action and loads of buttons. Cheap plastic reflects the price so cann't complain.
This unit is cheap enough that I intend to dis-mantle and connect up 'home-brew' switch panels, but I like it so much that I might have to buy another!
Excellent Joystick March 26, 2007 32 out of 32 found this review helpful
This is a very nice, smooth and comfortable joystick and well worth looking at for the low price compared to expensive rivals. It has loads of buttons and switches to program for your flight or space sim's making game play easy. The base is a good size allowing you to sit it on your lap and use it comfortably as easily as you would on the desk-top. It come with a little wrist-rest which is universal so you don't have to mess around unscrewing the bits like you do on the other saitek joysticks - assuming you've not lost the key - and makes it easy to use left or right handed.
It suffers form the similar problem of `drifting' which you can get in the other saitek joysticks if it is plugged in when you boot up your pc, which is easily fixed just by unplugging the stick from the USB port and plugging it back in - I don't know why so many people gripe and moan and slate the saitek joysticks when all they need is to do is such a simple thing!
Over-all this is an excellent controller and well worth looking at if you need a flight stick - especially at this price!
