maybe its just me but... May 10, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
well i was looking forward to this headset coming..unfortunately it wasnt as good as i was hoping it would be..im a pc online gamer and should of known that the vibration effect would be the seller here..and it is...yes it gives you the sense that all hell is breaking loose around you..but what it doesn't do,is let you know in which direction your enemy is coming from..the headset makes you think there close or just behind you..but in fact there in the opposite direction..instead of knowing your foe is just about to get a bullet from you because you know where they are...your left bemused to find out there no one where near you..also gun battles between players sound as if there coming from out of the map...playing music with this headset isnt very good either..it just doesn't sound as crisp and clear..maybe its just me..but ive played online shooters for years now,and this headset will see you killed more often than not....but if you want a head splitting sense of war and a bit of fun..then this headset is for you!
You need to get a set !!!!! April 8, 2007 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
When i saw the saitek GH20 Vibration headset it looked to good to be true this was also my 1st time buying from amazon. When i got the headset 1st thing i saw was how well it was made and how nice it looked. The battery box that comes with it is not that good but i do not need it i used the usb cable that came with it lots and lots of wire so you can move around the sound i get from them is 10/10. The vibration at 1st i though was not going to get used but i love that also for music and games and movies.
i give out of 10 : Mic 10/10 : Sound quality am not a (sound pro) 10/10 : Looks 10/10 : Vibration 10/10
Over all as you can see i love this headset i might also get another. :p
Taking you to the movies January 24, 2007 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
When I first bought this, I was looking for something to replace my current microphone, which I use to talk to team-mates while I play online. They couldn't hear me a lot of the time, and when they could it was fuzzy. So I looked around for a headset with a built in mic, and found this. I was mainly buying it for the high quality mic, not expecting to have sound quality better than my main speakers. It was a dream to set up, I just had to plug it in and it ran out of the box, and it comes with adapters depending on whether you want to power the vibration using USB or using AAA batteries. When I started playing Battlefield 2142, I was amazed by the realism it was giving me, I could hear everything around me at once, and tell exactly where gun-fire was coming from, not to mention the fantastic effects the vibration gives. Explosions are really brought to life, making you feel like you're in a movie. It's also good for music, I've been hearing bits of my favorite songs I never even realised were there. I've also been told by friends that they can hear me clearly, although I had to do a bit of fiddling with the sensitivity to get it the way I wanted it.
There are only a couple of down sides. One is that it begins to be a bit uncomfortable after about an hours worth of gameplay, this might just be me, it would probably change depending on how you wear it and what shape your head is. Your ears get pretty warm after a while too, although I'm easily distracted from this by bullets flying past me in all directions. It can feel a little strange at times, talking to people through the mic while not being able to hear yourself too well (it does a good job of blocking outside sound out), but that's pretty easy to get used to. The last thing is that there's a bit of background noise, especially with vibration turned on, when the volume dial is put up high, but that's easily avoided by turning the volume up in whatever application you're using
All in all, I'd say it's a fine headset, well worth the money. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a bit of extra realism in their games, while being able to talk to people at the same time.
