World creation December 29, 2008 6 out of 9 found this review helpful
I bought this for the teenagers in my family and they have played it for hours at a time every day since installing it. The creature function is brilliant fun and watching your world evolve at your own hands is amazingly good entertainment. Each stage of the game has been filled with fun and there hasn't been a moment of boredom. I can't rate this highly enough and am extremely pleased with Spore.
Let's Out-Evolve DRM, Shall We? December 24, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I liked Spore, whilst it may not be the full expression of the overall idea, it's a step in a) the right direction and b) away from the sims, thankfully. However, the DRM system has been shown to damage everyone, users and industry alike and if EA and the rest of the whole computer industry, yes bill and steve that means you too, keep on like this, they won't have a market share, or customers to buy their products to fund what most people want, better computer products in the future. That or Linux will take over the world?! That and they've overstepped copyright law with DRM anyway, so well you break the law, others will break it, lead by example, the music industry is making this mistake too, I mean are EMI going to arrest buskers for playing famous classical music or Beatles tunes?
End the madness!
Peace Out, oh and Merry Christmas
Great Game December 22, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Eagerly Anticipated, This is a great game, full credit is due to its creators. It is massively fun and you can create almost anything with the creature creator software (someone created a homer simpsons head creature!).There are loads of clips of it on youtube if you need a feel for it, though if you like the SIM genre of game you'll love it.
Excellent December 21, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I couldn't agree less with the people who only gave this game one star. this is a fantastic game, you will find few games better than this. Maxis have done a fantastic job making this game. the detail of how you can design your characters is fantastic and its fun progressing through the game. the only downside to this game is the videos in between the ages are not great and the cell stage is not fantastic but is still quite fun in a simple kind of way. i believe the people who gave this game one star did not play the game past the cell stage or maybe the creature stage but entered it in the wrong frame of mind. the game gets better as you go along and i would thoroughly recommend it. fantastic.
No telephone activation December 20, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
The only best part of the game was when I did get a full refund. Removing DRM protection would greatly improve the game because I couldn't activate by telephone. What's the use to a person without internet access on the computer they are playing on.
