WOTLK review November 27, 2008 1 out of 6 found this review helpful
ok, most the comments are about how bad Amazons delivery service is, so im going to make it about the GAME.
but first, yes idigo starfish is a jersey company, and games I could imagine would arrive late as they get shipped from jersey, but don't be annoyed at amazon.
I actually live in jersey so I get stuff early, not meaning to brag, but jersey is VAT free so its much cheaper for them to send popular individual orders (like personal orders of games/dvds), its jsut business sense, no matter how much you will complain that's how there business operates.
Ok, the game is fantastic, quests are layed out nicely to be one continuous flow of play, and the have included random FMV in the game, so 10/10 for storey and imagination. and the death knights quests are fantastic, but get a lvl 80 char first as when I started HFP on my DK most of outland is flooded with DK's so its awkwerd for groups.
and ofc its warcraft, we would not even purchase / think about purchasing WOTLK if we did not have a 70 char and love the game already.
So if you love wow, you'll love this.... FACT.
Only for High End Gamers November 25, 2008 1 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have to agree with most reviewers of this expansion pack, Wrath of the Lich King returns blizzard to its top form, well designed quest-chains, beautiful scenery and wonderful, haunting music (though I couldn't help feeling the celtic/hebredean folk didn't sit that well with the fact that I was hacking enemies to bits).
The new death-knight class is well designed... I was worried that blizzard would be creating an uber-class who could wipe out any other class, but they've been sensible and designed a class who can "play well with others". Also, blizzard have noticed that a lot of people didn't really understand the plot of the last expansion, Burning Crusade, so the induction quest-chain for the death-knight it beautifully crafted, immersing the player in the history of the class and providing some very funny, and some very touching, moments as the chain progresses.
However.
If you're a seasoned gamer (and if you have a death-knight, you must already have a level 55 character on the server, so yes, you ARE a seasoned gamer), the death-knight induction quest chain is over in two or three hours. After that (and please correct me here if I'm wrong), there's not much to do except hop over to Outland and repeat the quests you've already done in the Burning Crusade until you're high enough for Northrend, the new continent introduced with this latest expansion. This is effectively level 70, unless you have a good gang of co-adventurers alongside you. My level 70 warlock, and my partner's level 70 Paladin, found the starting areas of Northrend to be "comfortably challenging" as we adventured together - anything lower, and you're in for a very hard time, I think.
So though it's a great package, and though technically it has something for anyone over level 55, unless you desperately want to have a death-knight on your account, I'd leave buying Lich King until you have a level 70 character who can enjoy what Northrend has to offer.

A word of warning for US expats in the UK November 21, 2008 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
Please note that there are two releases of this expansion pack. One for use by gamers whose characters are on the US servers and one for gamers whose characters are on the UK server. THIS VERSION WILL ONLY WORK FOR UK SERVERS. You'll have to order the item from amazon.com to be delivered to a friend in the US who can then either post it on to you or give you the activation code (you can download the expansion software from Blizzards own site).
Bad service November 20, 2008 2 out of 9 found this review helpful
I like many people have had very bad service over this and it may well cost them my custom and many others. Bad enough I was never sent the game, but when I complained and they send the would send me a copy, that too has not yet been dispatched! So much for hoping to join in the launch day fun, if amazon get there way I wont get to play for 2 weeks! Off to by it else were.
