Sepratists use OG-9 homing spider droids for anit-vehicular combat, first deploy them at the Battle of Geonosis. Hasbro continue their releases of vehicles from The Clone Wars with this excellent Homing Spider Droid. Although these were first seen in Attack Of The Clones, this is the first time this Droid vehicle has been released.
Brilliantly detailed and with joint axes reflecting that of the one on screen the Homing Spider Droid is an accurate representation of the Separatist weapon.
The Droid is 31cm tall but the legs allow for the cockpit to be set at various heights from 22 - 27 cm high. Each leg can move up and down and the point where they attach to the main body hinges through 30 degrees of sideways movement. Each foot also hinges through 270 degrees for maximum stability on rough terrain. It has a standing base of up to 45 cm square.
The main body has an opening hatch which reveals the cockpit with room for one Battle Droid. There are cannons which fit to the top and bottom of the main body and each on has a firing missile. The upper cannon hinges about 60 degrees vertically but can rotate 360 degrees around for maximum fire coverage. The lower cannon also rotates 360 degrees but the cannon itself can swing through a full 180 vertical.
The legs and cannons can be removed after display so collectors can rest easy that this can be put back in the box although after time the main legs joints may expand to make removal a bit of a problem.
It's about time this Droid weapon was released and this is a must for any Droid Army.
