Memory Card for the Nintendo Wii February 21, 2007 4 out of 8 found this review helpful
At the moment, your Nintendo Wii consoles will store game saves and Virtual Console games on the built-in Wii memory. Later on this will become full and an SD memory card will be required.
The memory card is inserted in the front flap of the console where the controller sync button is located. On the Wii menu, select Wii options at the bottom and data management. This is where you can view data on your gamecube and SD memory cards. Game saves can be stored on your SD card and from what I understand, Virtual Console and Channels can be stored on it to give you more room. However, these can only be used on the console they were downloaded with.
MAX have created a low-cost 1GB card designed to represent the Wii. 1GB is approx. 1024 MB of data storage and it is nessesary for NES, SNES, N64, Channels and Wii game saves. It would not be advisable to buy anything below 1GB these days.
