When i first got this game i thought it would be quite disapointment but i was wrong the graphics look great the stadiums look realistic the only disapointment is that theres no ref on the pitch or linesmen and it doesn't have cut scenes when players get booked also little things like players like Agbonglahor, micah richards etc could have there shirts untucked as its not very realistic every player having there shirt tooked in also the premier league goalkeepers could have there real kits because i am stoke fan i was really looking forward to seeing Sorenson in his kit but was disapointed to see he wasn't just in the boring ea blue kit that every goalie wears apart from the big 4 newcastle,everton spurs etc it wouldn't harm ea to fo a few more. Also you should be able to pick who you want in the international teams as we are unable to have heskey in the england team but we can't!!!!! also giving it a cheesy name like 'fifa 09 allplay' puts people off this game as if its for kids but its not its a great game even for the hardcore fifa fans. So overall a great game but could be improved like players having shirts tucked out and realistic kits for goalies although they don't have them on the xbox either so its not much of an issue and international selections would be good its great fifa for us who chose a wii and now cannot afford a xbox or a ps3. right back to my career with The stoke, whos next? great man u away , defend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I was enjoying it immensely until I found out you only get 5 seasons as a manager. I'm already in my fourth season and I haven't even got to the Premiership yet! I guess Valley Parade wont be seeing Champions League football after all. That is unless I play on the easiest setting to ensure consecutive promotions, which would be stupefyingly boring. Even then I would only get one crack at the CL and what would be the point on the easy setting, when I would be beating Barca and Real Madrid 9-0?

Fifa 09 is a great inprovement over last year. The only really problem is that the 8 v 8 Footii is very addictive, and that may not sound like a problem, but you'll hardly ever find yourself on the real football game. The All-Play system is a great addition for beginners as the computer moves for you. That may sound disaterous and if one person is using a nunchuk it can be, but if you're all using wiimotes then it's great fun.
Overall it's a great game. The 8 v 8 is addictive and makes the normal footy seem boring and redundent. 5 star fun rating and 4 star overall because of the boring normal footy.
P.S: If you like to play the normal footy the simple thing to do is avoid 8 v 8 like you would a hunting knife.

Having been a PES fan for many years, this was the first FIFA I've played in a while and I was not disappointed. EA have crammed a lot of gameplay features and options into FIFA 09.
You can play the game with realistic looking players and stadiums or choose 8 vs 8 Mii-like carricatures with big heads, who play in a training ground. The latter option is fun for a couple of games, but after I played the "advanced" game I didn't want to go back to the cartoony version.
You can play FIFA 09 against computer controlled teams, against human friends, with human friends in co-op mode, or online against players from across the world. You need an EA account for the last option, but it's free and you don't need a friend code. I already have an account for Medal of Honor 2 so I was able to use that.
The game plays very well. You use the remote to point where you want to pass, then hit A to move the ball. You move your players using the nunchuk so you'll need two of these if you want to take on a friend or family member. To shoot at goal you shake the remote. It's all very intuitive, but shooting does seem a little on the random side. Tackling is done by either sliding in (shaking the remote again) or pressing the B button to nick the ball.
FIFA 09 isn't without its faults though. The sound effects are fine, but the commentary is hit and miss. Andy Gray's comments are either frequently late or just plain wrong. It's also a pain that there is no animation when a player is booked or sent off, so if you blink you'll miss the small dialog box which flashes up in the top right-hand corner. Gray often makes comments about players being injured but there is no on-screen indication whether this is the case or not.
One more serious problem occurred when we were playing a 2 player game and my son's keeper was red carded for bringing down my striker in the penalty area. He was taken straight to a substitution screen and told he must put another keeper on the pitch. Sounds reasonable doesn't it? Unfortunately the game wouldn't let him swap an outfield player for the keeper sitting on his bench, and to cap it all the game then crashed when we tried to return to the action. The first time any Wii game has crashed on us.
Two player mode is great fun, and we also enjoyed playing in co-op mode. Unfortunately it doesn't look like you can play two human teams in a league or cup tournament which is a real shame. You can play in co-op mode, but it would have been great to play the Barclays Premier against human AND computer teams rather than just the latter. I may be wrong, in which case it is not at all obvious how to do this and the instruction manual is no help in this case.
So there you have it. The game gets 4 stars for being great fun, making the most of the Wii's unique remote, and because there are so many leagues and cups to conquer - as well as online. It loses a star because of the minor niggles noted above, but especially because you can't enter two human teams into a league or cup tourney. Overall though, great value for your 30.

fifa 09 graphics are worst than pro evo's this year and all fusy fifa 03 better on gamecube
manager mode decent
mii footie match is better than the origial gameplay and you can see they spent more time on that
online is terrible compared to pro evo
gameplay is copying pro evo
can't move players of the ball which is a big let down
fifa 09 is a con
shooting is great on the game and so is the tackling
and skills on the game is the best bit
wait till pro evo 09 as the gameplay is better
the use of Gamecube remote is good stuff
crossing is hard as it's not accurate
if the graphics were better and moving players of the ball this would of been the best footie game on the wii
