Fun but simple gameplay .... January 18, 2007 ... that becomes very repetitive after the first 100 or so games! By that I mean my 9 year old son & I loved it when we first got it - good graphics & sound & pretty addictive gameplay eventually gives way to realising its a VERY simple game with limited options.
Worth buying for younger kids or for under a tenner.
Most Repetitive Game Ever! June 19, 2005 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
I got this game in a special offer with an xbox console I recently bought. My initial thoughts of this game were ok; graphics are good, sound is good, but after I had played several missions, it dawned on me that this game is so repetitive! Every mission is either destroy all of something, race someone or go and collect something - always before time runs out. The voices are all genuine but the dialoque is pretty weak. The game in itself is slightly amusing, and its good how you can explore Springfield. If you like the kind of games like "Crash Bandikoot" then this game is for you, otherwise I would suggest getting a better game like San Andreas
The best gta rip-off ever! May 4, 2005 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is my favourite xbox game just for the pure fun factor. I'm under 18 so would never be allowed to get grand theft auto. This is just as good. The storyline is great, as is the dialogue. The missions are in no way repetitive and the game is true to the tv show. I have just two annoying things. I finished the game in less than a month, playing only on weekends and i got nothing for 100% completing the game

I was given this as a present and I have to say that I'm thankful that I didn't spend my own money on it. The game itself isn't too bad and if you're a big Simpsons fan then there is that obvious attraction. The graphics are ok and the feel of the game generally is fine but if you start to look any deeper than that then the cracks start to appear. My main complaint about the game is there just didn't seem to be any real depth to it which meant that it could be quite uninvolving at times, the missions were mundane and repetative for the most part too. I don't think this is a terrible game though because I think that obviously this game is aimed at the younger generation and as a slightly older gamer it's just not something I'd appreciate. So in conclusion, if you're under 18 then this game might be perfect for you but if you are over 18 then I'd suggest not getting it.
Imagine GTA, made by Salvidor Dali... March 8, 2005 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
From what I've read, the Simpson have never really broken the games market in style. Perhaps its the difference between the markets of TV and games, or maybe they just got lazy.Either way, this actually turned out to be pretty good. While never really pretending to be anything other than a GTA rip off, it provides an enjoyable and eye wateringly colourful experience. The graphics, level design and gameplay are all excellent. The range of environments and cars are excellent, and even has the holy grail of video game features: unlockable content. Unlike many games, the constantly repeated character dialog rarely becomes irritating. True Simpsons fans will probably love it all the more, as it has tons of references to the tv show. Apparently they actually got the Simpsons writers and cast on board for this one, which probaly explains why it is so good. Perhaps the only downside from my point of view, is its GTA nature. It made me miss the night life of Vice City all the more. Even so this is an excellent, if silly game, and should be enjoyed by most...
