why so expensive? September 12, 2008 I hate the fact Amazon, like so many other stores it seems, have already consigned the Xbox and PS2 to the "other platform" list. Believe it or not but some of us don't yet have an Xbox 360 or PS3!
I already have the Xbox Classic 'Splinter Cell' which was barely 5, so I'm puzzled as to why this 'Ghost Recon' version is nearly 20. I thought the 'Xbox classic' series were supposed to be cheaper?
FPS are my favourite video game genre, and while I may not be that good at them, I'm willing to try them out. 'Ghost Recon' - judging by the gameplay videos I've seen - looks good enough to add to my list. If I buy it, and I like it, I'll get the others in the series.
MAKE SURE YOU'RE BUYING THE 'XBOX CLASSICS' Ed. December 5, 2004 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
There are two editions of this most awesome XBox original title now. The original release hasn't significantly dropped in price but the 'XBox Classics' edition is just a little over half of the current price for the same product. Watch out because each editions' reviews are displayed on the other's pages. MAKE SURE YOU'RE BUYING THE RIGHT ONE - your wallet will thank you for it!
Ghost Recon - A Brilliant FPS March 31, 2004 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Ghost Recon is First Person Shooter of the very highest calliber. It was one of the first games to come out on the xbox, and in my opinion is still one of the best. The graphics may not be the best out there these days, but they are still more than adequate and the sounds are frighteningly realistic. However, it is the gameplay that truly sets this game apart from other titles like it. It truly is one of the bench marks against which all other fps's are measured. This game also has an incredible life, with the varying difficulties, specialist troops to unlock, new weapons to get and different game types to experience. All of these different objectives are displayed in your roster, and as you complete more of them your rank as a commander increases until you eventually become a General. This game is immensely rewarding to play, and I thoroughly recommend it.
Man Down December 11, 2003 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
This is the full version of Tom Clancy's ghost recon, released on the new XBOX Claasics (read: budget) range. Which is a good thing - basically it means you're getting an excellent game for a cheap price.Ghost Recon gives you control over 6 men and then puts you in a REALLY relistic environment. Theres no health packs, no speed ups and no lightning guns. Fighting back an army (through tons of missions) you unlock more men to choose from, extra weaponary and a cheat mode. The game includes XBOX Live play and this can be tremendous fun and its proberly worth the game just for Live - but the single player mode is even better, its too good for words! Controlling your men is simple. You bring up a map of the area, say what you want the men to do (recon etc) and the click where you want them to go. You can choose you own team players (from Snipers, Demolitions to standard machine gun types) and even choose what they carry. Not enougth? Well if planning there every move isnt enougth you can jump into them and take control of them fully in a FPS kinda view. I really recommend this game (as do most sites, magazines and reviewers!) and give it the full 5 out of 5 - it really makes you feel like your in a war torn town, dodging bullets while rain hits muddy water at your feet. Enjoy!
Outstanding !! December 5, 2003 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This game is excellent and must belong to your game collection. A must-buy if you like this type of game !! The only but slightly negative comment that I would say about it, is the graphics or not breathtaking but still, they are quite nice. I am not an anti-PS2 gamer but I have played the PS2 version of this game and you would not believe how awfull it is to play and to look at... Xbox Version = 10/10 PS2 Version = 4/10
