Puzzles challenges and adventure galoreJanuary 12, 2004 22 out of 25 found this review helpful
Bought this for my 10 year old for Christmas. We all like the Harry Potter stories and I was keen for him to have an X box game that wasnt 'shoot em' or racing ( got enough of those!) From the momennt he put it on he was captivated. It follows the film storyline (more so than the details of the book)and takes the gamer through challenges, puzzles some requiring lateral thinking some plain logical and gets the gamer involved in the school life at Hogwarts.Challenges involve finding spell books and potions for class, obstacles are every step of the way with strange mystical creatures to hamper you and best of all secret passages nooks and crannies everywhere.Bertie Botts beans can be collected along the way to trade with the Weasley brothers for treats from their strictly forbidden shop. The scene is vast including Hogwarts school all its classrooms, dungeons and common room areas and also Hogwarts grounds its outbuildings and forest. Its highly addictive and unfortunetly several hours can pass without realising. I should know I'm addicted too and I'm a 30 something mum whos never played an X box game before! The upshot is I would highly recommend this game for young gamers. My 14 year old girl likes it too but I guess serious adult games would probably find it too trivial. If you like the Harry Potter stories you'll love this.
