Almost, but not quite August 29, 2007 This game feels like it was one revision short of being production-ready; as if it was the final rough draft of a good college paper. It has all the elements for a really good stealth/action game, but it needed one more round of polishing before it's there. Actually, if the developers released a patch, I think that's all it would need.
The biggest problem I have with this game is with the model movement and positioning. For example, if I'm trying to sneak along, while I'm walking on a catwalk system (which you do several times in the game), and I try to carefully adjust my position, it's just too easy to fall off. Why? No, it's not all user-error. If I'm facing one way and try to carefully turn the other way, the model has to move, almost jerk in the direction she's facing before she actually turns around. This extra forward movement caused me to fall off several times! >:( There are also scenes where you have to carefully move around while trying to avoid laser motion/heat detector beams. This annoying extra movement has also caused me to hit those beams, which of course gets me killed almost instantly.
Another gameplay problem is the aiming...you can't aim your weapon yourself! Well, that's not entirely true, but the only way to aim is to toggle the right trigger until you're pointing at the baddie you want to shoot. But if you're on a catwalk, there's simply no way possible to aim down at the baddies below you! What?! Why not??!! In most other games you can use the joystick to move your crosshairs around and aim at whatever/wherever. But no, not here. I don't get it, unless we're not supposed to have that kind of advantage. But this IS a stealth game, so what's the point in having a weapon, sneaking up on a group of baddies, and not be able to use it??
Another short-coming, though it's not a gameplay issue, is the enemy AI. Most of the time these guys are horribly stupid! At some points you can be seen by someone, but if you run the other way and turn a corner, he'll forget you were there. Or sometimes you can just crouch and wait several seconds and again he'll forget you were there. At other times you could hang from a catwalk and dangle right in front of the bad-guy and he won't even notice! It makes sneaking around easier, but it's still laughable.
One more complaint: There's not much interaction allowed with the environment. You can push and pull some objects to help climb up to certain places, and you can grab only a few objects to use as weapons, but not many. Much of the rest of the environment is "just there"; you can't do anything with it. I kept wanting to open this door or pick up this thing or move that thing. But nope, couldn't do it. The bad thing about this is that it makes the world less believable and seem too sterile.
Even though I've bashed it, the game does have its moments, and there were times when I had fun figuring out how to pass a level. The special attacks (press and hold X) are pretty neat, and they allow you quietly eliminate the enemy. These moments, plus the storyline, kept me going to the end. If you're a fan of the game, and if you can deal with the control issues, you may want to give it a try. The story and cut-scenes are worthy of a good TV episode, and the graphics are acceptable. It's just the gameplay that too often gets in the way.

I have just completed this game in quite a short time around 8 hours duration which is kinda short. But first the good points, good Graphics , pretty good fighting system, Script Dialogue quite witty well the Marshall bits are anyway. OK the bad points & don't shoot me down because i love this show and had high hopes considering the time duration of the making of this game and i have been waiting patiently for it, anyway I think its far to short, it does not to me anyway fit in to season two at all a dramatic world endangering storeyline with Marshall brianwashed into letting people into CIA HQ i find hard believe, too many saves, not enough diversity i mean lock picks and computer hacks and thats it, also end of level bosses too easy one route path to your goals gaurds going invisable in night club level could not see who i was fighting, no Francie or Will in any shape or form no balancing of two lives which was still part of the storey in season two Vaugh walks a bit funny, Plus Vaugh level how short, I was kinda expecting the style of the new 007 game everything or nothing totally cool game graphics, cut scenes action bits, driving, guns, And sidney's costume that she never wears in the show at all, the black stealth suit where the hell the hell did that come from. spoiler don't read this if have not completed game warning warning, OH yeah rubbish ending sid unlocks last door jumps out into helicopter piloted by vaugh the end roll end credits plus Alias has other people in it it would have been great to jack bristow, Dixon, more vaugh levels other than that a good game but could have been better.

Now don't get me wrong i love Alias from day one i have love this show butas im very nearly complete on this game i have to say it does not do theshow justice apart from the Marshall Finkmen moments which are funny, thegame is good a solid game but as for Xbox title i found it clunky and ifeel other characters should have been more involved like jack bristowinstead vaugh just doing a small level but like i say this is nodisrespect to the TV show i love i just felt it fell a little short of themark for example the end of level bosses where a little to easy & weshould had stealth more stealth more costumes bigger levels auto saverather than have 100's of save all over the place also vaugh walked a bitfunny shoulder wise a few more cut scenes would have been nice jennifergarner sid didn't have much to say in game it was fight problem solvefight pick lock. it was a brave attempt but when i play james bondeverything or nothing i see what it could be like i feel the show has beencheated a little such a high quality show with amazing writing, acting, direction i didn't think it could have been so much better considering thetime it has taken to complete this, but like i say its good but notbrilliant.

I am a fan of the show and definately a fan of the game. The gamefeatures locations and disguises used in the show like Sydney's silverwaitress outfit in the casino and the asylum in Romania makes anappearance. There are also new locations and disguises so you won't feellike you're just re-enacting the show. There are a variety of weapons touse from the usual guns and batons to electric guitars and brooms. Marshall's op tech equipment helps you get through doors and lasers butwatch out for the turret guns, they're a nuisance. All the favouritecharacters from the show appear and you even get to play as Vaughn for ashort time. It's a shame you don't get to play as him for longer as hispunches and kicks are more effective than Sydneys. Overall, this is anexcellent game whether you are a fan of the show or not. Only bad pointis it only took me one week to complete but still worth it.

I believe this game will do well because of its success on television. If you like Buffy and the vampire slayer games and dark angel you'll love this game because its based on the same format.
