I bought this game thinking that it would be as good as rising sun but this game is sooo unrealistic for example I have a sniper rifle, I headshot a badguy I think ok he's dead annoyingly he stands up !!! The people look like paper, the only detailed part of the game is the weapons.

I remember when there was a certain amount of pride in the voice of anyone who mentioned Medal of Honor. The first game from the PS1 was excellent, and the PC version (Medal of Honor Allied Assualt) was an instant classic, mixing excellent level design, great gameplay and good graphics.Its obvious that alot of the design team have moved on since then. While Frontline has its moments of genius, it doesn't deliver on the promises of previous games. Its gameplay is nothing new if you've played and FPS over the last 5 years. Levels are usually pretty linear, and rarely involve more than go from A to B, picking up this on the way. Certain levels do stand out, usually because they were lifted straight from Allied Assualt. Graphically its average. While the team have done a good job on improving on the graphics of previous games, it certainly won't stretch the XBox to any great degree. Music and sound effects have always been where the Medal of Honor games have been peer-less, and this is no exception. All the sound effects are superb, and the ever present Medal of Honor orchestra is on top form again. All in all, it gives a different play experience dpending on who you are. If you've already played the previous Medal of Honor games, it will leave you with a sense of deja vu, and of being cheated. If not, then you may well enjoy it, although perhaps it is not the best introduction to the franchise...

This is now quite an old game, and there are a few promising first person WW2 and Vietnam games on the horizon, but you really shouldn't miss this absolute classic.
Putting the beach level to one side, there many outstanding levels to be played in this game. The graphics arn't brilliant and the sound is not the best, but when you are fighting through the streets of Holland you will agree that it is simply fantastic gaming.
For anyone with a love of war movies and console games it's a must. By the time you have finished this game you will feel like you did your part for your country and will be passing on war stories to your kids in years to come.
Guilty Pleasures April 29, 2004
I love this type of game. But I know I shouldn't. The first time Iplayed Medal of Honor was on the old Playstation and the great parts ofthat game have been carried straight through to this version for the Xbox. The sound is still the stand out reason for playing Medal of Honor, asbullets, shrapnel and God knows what else fly all around you, you'recompletely immersed in a bygone era.
And that's the reason I know I shouldn't love this game. The eventsportrayed here are, at times, so closely matched to historic fact - areality that remains within living memory for many veterans from the war -that I can't help feeling a little uneasy about the game. It's hard todismiss this as 'only a game', particularly when trying to dash up theNormandy Beaches, creep through the bombed out back streets of Arnhem, orsnipe your way across the Nijmegen bridge. Real people actually did thesethings and many died trying. There's a part of me that feels a littleashamed of enjoying a game like this.
But enjoy it I do and it's hard to see me stopping. Graphically, I'veread a number of people's comments about how this doesn't look as good asit should on the Xbox.I think it's good enough, the overall effectcertainly being far, far ahead of it's Playstation origins. This is mostobvious when using the sniper rifle, a weapon that actually works at areal distance now, as opposed to the close quarters, rubbish version onthe older game! The atmosphere created and the satisfaction to be hadfrom surviving against insane odds, deep behind enemy lines are bothcompelling and engaging, and the graphics don't detract from this atall.
In summary, a grand conversion onto the next generation of consoles. TheXbox even supports split screen multi-player, which has got to be a goodthing!

This game is set during World War 11 and, although the graphics aren't brilliant, the game is reasonably good and the storyline is fine. Personally, I would leave this game and buy the newer one but if you don't mind heads that look like paper then this game might be your kind of game. The only problem is that you can get lost easily in the levels and take hours to complete a single mission.
