Amazon.co.uk Review:
In a nutshell: It may seem as if this has missed the boat on topical tie-ins but with so few games offering up a virtual game of cops ân’ robbers this is a surprisingly fresh take on the whole action genre. The lowdown: Trying to make a game out of a fourteen year old movie that consists primarily of men in suits standing around shouting at each other is not the most obvious of concepts, but as the most important crime movie of the last twenty years Reservoir Dogs proves to have great potential as a video game. As you can imagine most of the game involves sequences only hinted at in the movie as you actually take part in the diamond store heist, escape the police, abduct Marvin the luckless cop and stash the diamonds as Mr Pink. The game rates how you play on a moral scale, giving you full freedom to take hostages, torture and kill - or play the nice guy and try not to get anyone hurt. Most exciting moment: Just like the movie the game is filled with flashbacks and scenes that happen out of chronological order. Amidst the fairly generic driving missions the best bits by far are the third person combat sequences where, if you decide to play nasty, you can unleash a “bullet festival” special move when your adrenaline maxes out. Since you ask: Despite concerns over the game’s violence before its release, Eidos have pointed out that it’s actually possible (if quite difficult) to play through and win the entire game without killing anyone. The bottom line: A clever use of an unusual license, that’s more hits than misses. HARRISON DENT

A really good game January 9, 2007 When I heard that a videogame of Reservoir Dogs was going to be made, I thought it would be massive, creating a great buzz, but it seems it has made little impression on the gaming public.
I gave it a try and I'm glad I did, it's very different from the average action game, in that it involves taking hostages to get you from one place to another, (after all, the movie was about a group of bank robbers holed up after a bank job got messy) the whole game is about switching hostages as various cops, security guards and SWAT teams along the way try and stop you, after a while you get the hang of this and can get quite tactical, it's great fun. The game also has its share of driving missions, these also are fun, and you'll hear the guys from the movie talking to each other as you are driving, the driving missions are done well and remind me a bit of the original 'Driver' game.
I would recommend seeing the movie before you play the game if you haven't seen it, it will enable you to understand the characters and the storyline much better, otherwise I fear you could wonder what on earth it is all about.
Overall a really good game that blends action, shooting, tactics and driving, but be warned, it is a very short game to complete, so if you expect weeks of gameplay you will be dissapoined, you can play the game in a weekend. Great game based on a great movie, give it a try!
A Mad Game August 27, 2006 6 out of 11 found this review helpful
Now this game is just insane you control every person in this game. the game its self has a few problems but dont every game
1. driving: now you do some driving missions also which is very hard indeed also you crash a lot you can shoot from your car etc..
2. deaths: you have control of what you can do to people in the game as well you can kill them with your hand gun shoot them in the head also there have added slow motion when your argessing bar goes up to do specail kills very good i must say
overall: 8/10 i would suggest to buy this game as its fun the gameplay is easy also the music and the talking in the game is excellent as well
