Gran what? September 11, 2008 I actually had this when I bought my Xbox from Argos, along with Halo 2,I wouldn't have rushed out to buy it as I find Gran Turismo one of the most stifling games around,You fail the license time and time again as you clipped the verge once to often and end up repeating the same race over and over..I had a VW Beetle in GT3 and could only enter about two races all because I hadn't fulfilled some cretinous criteria which I would never use again. Forza on the other hand is fantastic,as long as you don't come last you get some credits,Don't feel like attempting a 15 lap race?,let the drivatar do it,hopefully. Also the opponents aren't like slot cars, they will make mistakes,I've quite often been trailing only to find a pile up on a hairpin bend and you chuckle as you pootle past in your granny-wagon. Quite simply it knocks GT3 into a hat and stomps up and down on it.
Fantastic game January 31, 2008 I've had forza motorsport for about a year now, and i havent raced a single race and left wanting for from the experience. its truly fantastic
the graphics are amazing, much better than project gotham 2 (which was out at the time) and GT4 (the main competitor)
i think the only problem is the exaggerated tyre noise. its way too loud, but that can be sorted by a simple SFX change in the menu. a brilliant game!
Badly let down by pathetic car sounds. August 31, 2006 3 out of 9 found this review helpful
This game has plenty of polish and scale - the graphics are truly tremendous, the car damage looks good, system link multiplayer is THE BEST for any xbox racer (along with PGR2) and custom soundtracks play uninterrupted from menus, through loading screens and into the game (Hooray!! more games need this feature in my opinion!). It has the feel of a great game, however...
The big flaw for Forza Motorsport is the pathetic, utterly unexciting car sounds. I make no wild exageration on this point. ALL the great racing sims have had cutting edge sound effects contributing to their greatness (Grand Prix 2, Grand Prix Legends, GTR!!, Colin McRae, Project Gotham, Gran Turismo and practically any other current full-on driving sim that's around for the PC (rFactor, Live for Speed, etc.)).
I'm afraid the car sounds for Forza are of a PSOne standard - i.e. about 8 years behind what can be considered as simulation. Everything else is impressive (as far as console racers are concerned), but nobody should claim this title is a classic when it sounds so weedy. The xbox IS capable of PC standard sound effects, although playing this game, you wouldn't know it.

I'm not going to go on to much about this game, but what I will say is this:I've been for the last 5 yrs a PS2 gamer ,I've played every racing on the PS2 that was worth playing and this surpasses all of them including the mighty Gran turismo 3 + 4.It wins on all fronts,Graphics, gameplay ,{replay value probably not},but everything else it does .There's a damage feature{Visual} and also effects the handling of the cars. All the cars are there Porsche,Ferrari etc ,. I love this game it's got to be the best racing game on current generation consoles around.I love my Xbox so much more than the PS2 it took me some time to get one but I'm so glad I did.
