5 out of 5 stars Star Wars actually made a good game   September 22, 2007
Many people will be aware of how many spin offs of star wars games there were on the old consoles. Most of them glitchy and full of gameplay plot holes. But this makes up for all of it.

Character creation at the beginning is very limited but from that point onwards this game is pure gold. You have the ability to choose whether to be good or evil but there are so many options of choice that you can literally end up annoying or even killing almost everyone in the missions.

The levelling up system is simply the point system where you get to customise how your character gets better and not only that but the Jedi characters get some great force abilities that even involve choking your enemies to death (Mwahaha!!) and the equipment can be equipped literally anywhere on the body (well there are some limits).

The characters are good because there is such a variation of people from do gooders to others that are just plopped in randomly (the securidroid's story is entertaining) and work well with your own character who is well... a random person whos character can change with a few button pushes.

Whatever way you choose to complete this game, it is important you get this. Seriously it didn't get all those awards for nothing.

5 out of 5 stars My favourite Star Wars video game ever   May 29, 2007

I remember when this game came out and I really wanted to play it, but I couldn't as I only had a Playstation 2 and didn't want to buy an Xbox at the time as it was too expensive. So when I eventually got round to buying one in 2004 when the price was slashed to under 100 I couldn't resist any longer. Anyway this was one of the first games that I bought for it and it is now in my all time games top ten and I have been playing videogames since the Atari 2600 over 20 years ago.

There are truly awful games, bad games, average games, good games, great games and truly outstanding games, this is what I class as a truly outstanding game. The way that I judge what makes a truly outstanding game to me is simply that I can't stop playing it until I have completed it. It took me about three weeks to complete this although I probably would have completed it sooner had I not played as much Paazak (a card game that I found extremely addictive) and not had an obsession with having to open every single container to get every single item. Some people don't think that this game feels star wars enough as it doesn't have any of the main characters from the films, but for me even though it is not based on any of the star wars movies, it feels more like star wars than any other star wars game that I have ever played. I was never a fan of role playing games until I played this so you don't have to really like role playing games to like this. The best way to describe this game is a role playing game in a Star Wars universe, where you can choose your missions and do them at your own pace in a similar way to, say for example Grand Theft Auto and it also has a similar feel to it as say for example, the Deux Ex games.

I am not usually bothered by stories in games but I have to say that I was completely hooked on this one and as the game progressed I found myself genuinely caring about the characters. Also in the story, there is a twist that completely shocked me, maybe it was just me that was a bit slow in not guessing this twist earlier, but honestly it was an emotional moment, one that I don't think I will ever experience again in a videogame.

Anyway, although I say it is a truly outstanding game, I have to point out just a few negative comments. Apart from the Ebon Hawk (your starship for travelling to and from different planets) there are no vehicles, and when you complete the game, unlike Grand Theft Auto you cannot carry on playing the game which is a shame as I had wasted my time opening every container and saving every item for nothing. One last negative comment is that once you have visited a planet and completed all the missions on that planet, there is no reason to bother going back.

So all in all if you have recently got or are planning on getting an Xbox and are also a fan of star wars or have just never got round to playing this game, then you would be crazy to ignore it.

I think this game is pretty good. It is good the way you can upgrade and personalise your lightsaber and other guns and armour. The graphics are good and the movement is very fluid. The story is good but it does seem to drag on a bit, going from planet to planet to planet trying to find the Star Maps. It is also quite good how you can go to the dark or light side of the force. I bought the sequel to this game. It is a game worthy of your money if you like starwars.

5 out of 5 stars Fun!   March 17, 2006

well first my older brother got it.. i seem to have mostly different tastes then him and said it was shit and gave it to me in a day. So i played it.. And it was awesome!

you can just go around telling people to go away and then killing them! what more fun is there. The graphics are good (for its era) and gameplay is immense and for a game based on a film is pretty impressive.

They dont even include anything about star wars they just have A few creatures/ planets from it. I think This is a damn good rpg....... although i did suck for a bit i got better after a while... ALTHOUGH its funny torturing zaalbar.

FUNNY gg 5 stars nice game

5 out of 5 stars A Long Time Ago, in a Galaxy Far Far Away.............   December 14, 2005

If you're trying to decide if you want his game, ask yourself this question: Do you want to be in your own Star Wars film? If you do, then BUY THIS GAME without delay! The previous reviews say it all, so there's nothing to add, (don't listen to the negative people). I've owned it for a few days now and I have had several very late nights - because I can't stop playing it, it's highly engrossing and VERY addictive once you get into it.

There are only two VERY slight negatives:

It DOES take a long time to get started, but that said I did every possible side quest there was. Once you get to the Jedi Academy on Dantooine, it's non stop adventure. Picking your lightsaber is fun, (the side adventure to get more various lightsaber crystals is WELL WORTH it).

The saving/loading screens are a bit of a pain, but you get used to them and they don't really take that long.

BUY THIS GAME WITHOUT DELAY!!!!
