perfect copy July 6, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I like 2D side-scrool shooters, I allways did. MS was allways one of my favourites, and this "copy" really went my way. There's a lot's a people complaing about this beeing too hard, and because of that, I thought a lot before buying this, because I hate frustrating games. One of the qualities I appreciate most in a game is the good balance of difficulty, but between a "too easy" one, and a frustrating one (come to mind a couple of them, but can't write it, or else it'll be censured), I go for the first. But back to MS - I didn't find it too hard at all - I manage to complete the story mode in my 4th attempt, and considering myself a slight "above average" gamer, I definitely recommed it to anyone. The star missing regards one point - I dreamnt long ago for a port of this game to XB, and dreamnt of a major improve in the game (focusing in graphics of course, but also in other aspects), but that didn't happen, its a perfect copy from the arcade version.

It's a 2D platform shoot 'em up, which sounds pretty weak when you consider the merits of Halo 2, Metroid Prime and Metal Gear Solid. But that's missing the point. The gameplay is hopelessly addictive (You go to the right of the screen and kill everything on the way), the graphics cute and beatifully drawn and the sound is pretty cool as well. The arcade machine is very popular and this is a very good reproduction onto the XBox. If you like shoot 'em ups, platform games and games that are instant action this is the one for you. No-one I've let play the game doesn't like it - and there's no other XBox game I can say that about.
