Where's Domination gone? October 13, 2008 I have most of the Unreal games, even the shoddy mess that is Tournament on the PS2,I got an Xbox so naturally was drawn to this,UC 1 was great,it's amount of options is immense and I'm currently up to about 600 games (offline),I've completed the single player Ascension Rites, but have hardly scratched the Tournament/Challenge ladders,I mostly play the Team Deathmatches, here's pretty much my only gripe, where are Domination and Bombing Run?,I loved these on previous games, instead we get Overdose, which is essentially a single player BR but with two balls, two goals and 'cheating' bot players who know where both the balls and the goals are immediately, likewise Nali Slaughter, kill as many Nalis as possible, great!,except the bot players instantly go for the 3-5 point Nalis whilst you're still mucking about with the single point ones,If these modes were team-based they'd work better, they're obviously for human opponents online, otherwise, flawless
Slick, andrenaline-fuelled, M-M-M-M-MONSTER KILLIN' fun! August 27, 2005 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
Innovative, enjoyable, mentally insane, fast-paced, crazy. Not as polished or as good as Halo 2, but still something VERY fun nonetheless. Refreshing to see the Unreal universe making a good move (for a change; UTC, UT2003, UT2004 are rather substandard compared to the orignal UT and this game) with this Xbox release; and this game will definately take some of your Halo hours up, till Halo 3 (and o' course UT2007) swings around of course :)
Great Fun June 12, 2005 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict is a great game. It's different and while some hardcore Unreal fans may be disappointed with the outcome, they will be the only ones. The level designs challenge Halo 2's . The cutscences are mindblowing at times . Online play is so much fun and u will get a lot of laughs from it . It only loses a star because i got bored of it quite soon and did not feel an urge to play it once I played through the small campaign . But dont think this game has a small lifespan because there are heaps of tournaments to complete 1 for each character . And there is all the near impossible challenges to complete , to unlock raiden !Give it a go
One for experts or masochists only May 16, 2005 6 out of 12 found this review helpful
This game is hard, hard, hard. Button combos for the weapons and attacks are hard; enemy AI is hard; getting the camera angles right is sometimes needlessly hard. You get the picture. Whether you see this as a positive or negative depends on how dextrous you happen to be. Graphically the game is pretty, but the environemts leave you feeling hemmed-in by invisible walls. Enemies look well-modelled, but everything moves so quickly in combat that you don't really have time to enjoy how they look. Finding the enemy in the first place can be a pain, and I have spent many a frustrating minute looking around a rather samey environment thinking 'where is the *&%!'. It doesn't help that the levels are as expansive vertically as horizontally, and the bad guy might be peering down on you with a sniper rifle as you aimlessly wander around corridors below. If ever there was a game in need of a radar, this is it. There are better and more imaginative FPS / fighting games on the xbox, but for those who want a very tough challenge, this should pass your pain threshold.

I got this because i was looking to buy a oneplayer fps deathmatch bot arena game. I was initially wanting a current gen perfect dark. And although this is an excellent game its still not the definitive fps arena game. The areas where the game falls short in my requirements are; Although the weapons are inventive and very good there are too few of them perhaps, with often poor secondary functions and the selection is unbalanced. There are also disappointingly too few game modes, sure there's capture the flag but no king of the hill, few other options, a lack of weapon options. On the good side there are many maps, however none recreate a feeling of "outsidedness" as seen in halo. The action with the bots is challenging and can provide a very descent run for your money. Initially the melee combat and adrenaline moves are daunting, but you can soon get into them with practice and provide an extra dimension to the gameplay, you'll soon be adreniline speeding whilst reflecting enemy bullets back at them. Overall a very good game that you can temper the settings and dip into for a good deathmatch.
