Amazon.co.uk Review In a nutshell: Mexico City has been overrun by terrorists and only the Ghost Recon team can restore order - through the use of extreme violence. You command not just your three team mates but a high-tech array of weapons, armoured vehicles and aircraft. The lowdown: Although it still plays very similarly to the last Ghost Recon game, this is easily the most impressive of the series so far. The graphics, particularly on the Xbox 360, are extraordinary with a whole city sprawling out in front of you at a previously unimaginable level of detail. Unlike some squad based shooters the controls are simple and intuitive, allowing you to take part in the action and order about soldiers and vehicles at the same time with the minimum of fuss. The questionable artificial intelligence of your allies is the only serious flaw, but the ability to explore the city and plan your attack from any angle usually overcomes this problem. Most exciting moment: Calling in a helicopter gunship as you and your men are pinned down by a dozen terrorists, snipers and tanks. Since you ask: The game is set in 2013 and all of the high-tech weaponry is based on equipment the U.S. expects to have in operation by then - even the Metal Gear Solid style flying recon drones. The bottom line: Incredible graphics and one of the best squad based shooters ever. Harrison Dent

not the best July 4, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
i was a great fan of Ghost recon one, it was challenging and extremely realistic. I got this earlier today and have so far only played multiplayer but it does leave a fair bit to be desired. The damage is nothing approaching realistic, one of my favourite parts from the first game, and the healing nodes annoy me. I also think it's a shame to lose the squad based system, in number 1 you could have six people spread across 3 squads all with a variety of specialties, give a group an order and control any individual. On the plus side the action is fairly constant and the weapons are fairly realistic if a little too tinny.
all in all this was a bit of a let down.
If your a veteran of the FPS and want to break into squad based games this is a good start. If however, like me, you loved the original and are hoping for a return of that style of game or are used to such games as Conflict Global Storm this is not the game for u
Over Hyped to make sales? April 7, 2006 5 out of 9 found this review helpful
Like everybody else, I saw trailers etc for GR 3 and thought I must get that game it looks great. Now I have it on Xbox I am disappointed to say the least, the graphics are poor seem hazy and not crisp (Xbox 360 may be better) If you compare the graphics to Brothers in Arms or Black they really are poor and the sound is awful 'click click click' goes your machine gun! not meaty enough or realistic as either of these titles, there is something in it's favour - the gameplay is not bad your character is easy to control and move around the environments and easy button presses for weapon change etc. To be honest though a big let down! there are better games with a War and shooting theme out there like Half Life 2, Black, any Brothers in Arms or Call of Duty title. My opinion rent or save your money and buy one of these other titles.
Incredible graphics, amazing weapons. March 27, 2006 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought this game yesterday and I have already found it to be one of the best shooters ever. I had to decide between the new game "black" and this, but I chose this because it is a multiplayer. The graphics are amazing and the streets, building and everything in the surroundings in detailed to a pin point. The weapons are amazing and the vehicles are wicked. The only problem is the allies. They sometimes dont do they most favourable things on your part, but this is no real problem as there is always some way around that. The best thing about this has to be the weaponary, because if the USA army has this by 2013 I will be impressed. BUY THIS GAME!!! IT IS WORTH ALL THE MONEY!!!
